More than 100 Republican lawmakers signed on to an amicus brief with the Supreme Court in support of the Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 election results in Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and the left is hopping-mad about it.
Eighteen states have already joined the lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that claimed the four battleground states won by Joe Biden illegally changed election guidelines that ultimately led to widespread voter fraud.
The legal action seeks to delay certification of presidential electors in the four states, and 106 GOP lawmakers are backing the play by adding their names to the friend-of-the-court brief, claiming “unconstitutional irregularities involved in the 2020 election that cast doubt upon its outcome and the integrity of the American system of elections.”
The media wasted little time identifying these Republicans, which included Reps. Jim Jordan (Ohio), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), and Dan Crenshaw (Texas). Playing the shame game is a familiar tactic on the left.

The amicus brief was filed by Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., on behalf of Republicans who are “deeply concerned about the integrity of our election system.”
“The simple objective of our brief is to affirm for the court (and our constituents back home) our serious concerns with the integrity of our election system,” Johnson said. “We are not seeking to independently litigate the particular allegations of fraud in our brief (this is not our place as amici). We will merely state our belief that the broad scope of the various allegations and irregularities in the subject states merits careful, timely review by the Supreme Court.”
The left, to include much of the media, reacted by calling the legal challenge an “anti-democracy lawsuit,” taken in support of President Donald Trump’s “bid to overthrow the government.”
Leading a circus more outraged over transparency in the election process than about possible infringements on the integrity of our elections, was Trump’s chief antagonist, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who led the Democrats’ sham impeachment of the president.
“This isn’t a game. Trump lost. End of story,” Schiff tweeted. “But he’s still trying to drag down our democracy, invalidate millions of votes, and overturn the election. And for what? To raise money? To run again? These members of Congress should be ashamed. History will remember the enablers.”

Schiff had an ally in CNN anchor Jake Tapper in his attack on the 106 Republicans.
Foregoing any pretense of impartiality, Tapper called them the “Kraken Caucus,” and claimed that they “signed onto an anti-democracy lawsuit to disenfranchise millions of their fellow Americans, based on lies and conspiracy theories.”

Even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., weighed in, employing the Democratic Party’s tactic of exploiting the pandemic for political gain.
The irony being that the “starving” people and “shuttered” businesses she referenced are largely in Democrat-run states she is quick to lockdown.
106 House Republicans are spending critical time when people are starving and small businesses are shuttering trying to overturn the results of our election, but please tell us more about how “both sides are just as bad” https://t.co/atYNfw3IhI

But these three were far from alone when it came to melting down over Republicans taking a stand in support of election integrity.
It would appear that the assigned talking points centered around “sedition,” here’s a sampling of other responses from Twitter:
We cannot normalize how totally insane it is that Trump, 18 state AGs & 106 House Republicans still trying to overturn election 37 days after, when Biden won by 7 million votes, 306 electoral votes certified, Trump campaign lost 55 court cases & presented no evidence of fraud

106 House Republicans need to be held accountable for this sedition.
Georgia, you can do it in a single day.

It's no longer about the usual Republican vs. Democrat fights. It's about the survival of our Democracy as we know it. These 106 House Republicans, the spineless AGs, and Trump need to be thoroughly and unambiguously embarrassed by the US Supreme Court. #SeditionSeventeen

It's time to charge the 106 House Republicans, Trump, and the #SeditiousSeventeen . Enough is enough! #Sedition

I’m calling on @SpeakerPelosi to unseat the 106 republicans for backing the Texas lawsuit. This is sedition!
This is also well within the House power to unseat all 106.

I’ll say it again, all of the 18 AGs and 106 House Republicans joining Texas’ effort to erase and overturn an election should be investigated, disbarred, prosecuted, convicted for joining a conspiracy to commit sedition by subverting democracy. Their signatures are all the proof.
