GOP Rep. Ken Buck demands appointment of special counsel to probe Hunter Biden’s business dealings

Amid all the drama over a presidential election marred by allegations of voter fraud, and a corrupt media establishment working hard to dispel any such notion, concerns over Hunter Biden’s dubious business dealings have dropped off the radar.

Not that this was ever on the radar of today’s media, which orchestrated a blackout of the swirling controversy in the final weeks before the 2020 election.

But Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., aims to fix that, as he penned a letter urging Attorney General William Barr to appoint a special counsel to investigate the younger Biden’s business affairs — which reportedly have ties to his father, Democratic nominee Joe Biden — saying this would ensure an inquiry “free from political interference.”

In a tweet, Buck stressed a special counsel was warranted “no matter who is in the White House.”

“This investigation is critical to defending the integrity of our republic and ensuring a potential Biden Administration will not be the subject of undue foreign interference,” the letter said, according to Fox News. “Americans have the right to know whether Mr. Biden’s reported ties to foreign governments will make him the subject of blackmail attempts or other nefarious efforts to undermine U.S. national security or otherwise improperly influence American foreign policy.”

“Similar to when the DOJ appointed Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III, it is critical that this investigation continue free from political interference, no matter who is in the White House,” Buck wrote. “We must guarantee the integrity of our government and the security of our republic.”

The lawmaker urged Barr to look into Hunter Biden’s “actions and the potentially incriminating contents of his laptop to ensure this important investigation will be completed.”

The laptop is in the possession of the FBI after the Bureau subpoenaed it and a hard-drive in connection with a money-laundering investigation in late 2019.

Barr appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham as a special counsel to ensure protection against a potential Biden administration moving to shut down his probe — Durham is investigating the investigators behind the Russian collusion hoax.

Data found on a laptop that reportedly belongs to Hunter Biden contradicted claims by the former vice president that he did not know anything about his son’s business dealings that included China.

It also prompted a former business partner to come forward to say that he met with the elder Biden on two occasions and that he was an active participant.

“They were putting their entire family legacy on the line,” Tony Bobulinski said in October. “They knew exactly what they were doing. They were dealing with a Chinese-owned enterprise … that had strong financial support and political support from the Chinese Communist Party.”

The driving argument on the left against a special counsel is that Hunter Biden is not an elected official, but that ignores the alleged ties that involve his father.
