Actor Nick Searcy took a video of himself on an “illegal walk” through a neighborhood in Los Angeles after removing his facial covering despite the city’s ban COVID-related ban.

“I’m out in Los Angeles having an illegal walk,” he says after pulling down his bandana facial covering.

“People are peering out their windows at me. And they’re going, ‘There’s a guy out there walking on the street and he doesn’t have a mask on,’” Searcy continues, mockingly lowering his voice to a whisper. “‘We’re all going to die.’”

“But you know what? I don’t care,” Searcy continues. “Because I’m a rebel. I’m a rebel and I’m a doer. Not a thinker. I’m a doer. I like to go out and do things. And [California Gov.] Gavin Newsom and [Los Angeles Mayor Eric] Garcetti and all these other stupid Democrats are not gonna stop me.

“I’m gonna go out for a walk every day and I’m gonna pull my mask down, and I’m gonna walk around in the fresh air without a mask on,” Searcy, who has had roles in such notable films as “The Fugitive,” “The Shape of Water,” and “Cast Away,” continued.

“That’s what Evel Knievel would do,” he added, referencing the late motorcycle stunt rider.

On Wednesday, Garcetti issued a broad order for residents of the city to remain at home after claiming L.A. is approaching a “devastating tipping point” regarding COVID-19.

“We must minimize contact with others as much as possible,” Garcetti said in his Dec. 2 order, adding the new restrictions are necessary to fend off “needless suffering and death.”

The order supersedes a previous one he issued in June. The new mandate wants public and private gatherings of people from multiple households and forces all L.A. businesses that require staffers who work on-site to close.

In addition, it bans most outdoor activities including walking, use of public transport, and riding bikes, motorcycles and scooters unless people are traveling to engage in essential activities.

The homeless are exempted, as are those engaging in outdoor religious activities, Fortune reports.

Supermarkets, grocery stores, and healthcare clinics and hospitals can continue operations under the order, but gyms, salons, and similar businesses have to shutter once again.

Also, anyone 16 and older traveling to the city has to complete an online form after arriving to acknowledge they have read the California travel advisory and understand it. Failure to complete the form can result in a fine of up to $500.

But for his part, Searcy sees little sense in it all.

“I’m a daredevil. Try and stop me, Garcetti,” the actor says in his video.

“The only reason I’m walking today is because he canceled golf. He said that foursomes have to all come from the same household in order to get a tee time at a municipal golf course,” the actor and North Carolina native said.

“They just canceled the entire reason for golf. You don’t go play golf so you can take everybody in your household. You go play golf so you can get out of your household,” he reasoned, jokingly.

“This is the dumbest time in American history,” he concluded.

Several people, including actress Kristy Swanson and conservative author and “The First” host Dana Loesch, responded in support of Searcy.

“Nick just do what Jersey folks do, roll up in one of these and tell those efr’s to efffoff!!!” Swanson wrote in a tweet that included a golf cart featuring a plastic-and-vinyl covering.

“This is why we’re friends,” Loesch wrote.
