President Donald Trump’s campaign filed a new lawsuit in Georgia on Friday demanding that either the results of the 2020 presidential election be tossed and a new election scheduled or the state’s GOP-led legislature be allowed to choose its electors.

Joined by Georgia Republican Party chair David J. Shafer, the president’s campaign argued that the election was corrupted by “tens of thousands of illegal votes that were cast, counted and included in the tabulations the secretary of state is preparing to certify,” as said in a statement by the campaign’s lead counsel, Ray S. Smith III.

“The massive irregularities, mistakes, and potential fraud violate the Georgia Election Code, making it impossible to know with certainty the actual outcome of the presidential race in Georgia,” Smith added.

In a press release, the campaign cited as evidence “sworn affidavits from dozens of Georgia residents swearing under penalty of perjury” to have witnessed the following during the 2020 race:

  • “Failure to process and secure the ballots” …
  • “Failure to verify the signatures on absentee ballots” …
  • “The appearance of mysterious ‘pristine’ absentee ballots not received in official absentee ballot envelopes that were voted almost solely for Joe Biden” …
  • “Failure to allow poll watchers meaningful access to observe the election” …

The release also pointed to “sworn testimony” from “data experts” who’ve identified “thousands of illegal votes” cast by the following:

  • Felons (2,560) …
  • Children (66,247) …
  • Unregistered voters (2,423) …
  • Voters with post office box addresses (1,043) …
  • Voters who registered in another state (4,926) …
  • Voters who voted in multiple states (395) …
  • Voters who moved out of state before the election (15,700) …
  • Voters who moved to Georgia but didn’t register to vote (40,279) …
  • Voters whose ballots were “lacking proper signature matching and verification” (30,000 to 40,000) …

Despite all these “irregularities, mistakes and potential fraud,” Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, has refused to acquiesce to any of the campaign’s prior requests — particularly those related to signature matching — and even published a stunning op-ed last accusing the president of refusing to accept the election results.

Raffensperger also claimed during an interview that, as reported by The Washington Post, “there is currently no credible evidence that fraud occurred on a broad enough scale to affect the outcome of the election.”

“The recount, Raffensperger said in the interview Monday, will ‘affirm’ the results of the initial count. He said the hand-counted audit that began last week will also prove the accuracy of the Dominion machines; some counties have already reported that their hand recounts exactly match the machine tallies previously reported,” the Post’s report from Nov. 16 continues.

Dovetailing back to the present, the campaign’s lead counsel added in a concluding statement, “The Secretary of State has orchestrated the worse excuse for an election in Georgia history.”

We are asking the Court to vacate the certification of the presidential election and to order a new statewide election for president. Alternatively, we are asking the Court to enjoin the certification and allow the Georgia legislature to reclaim its duty under the U.S. Constitution to appoint the presidential electors for the state.”

Apparently responding to the suit, Raffensperger’s underling, Georgia Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs, reportedly quipped that the president has “spent more time campaigning in Georgia after the election” than before it.

“The state of Georgia is wrapping up its third count of legally cast ballots, and the results have not changed,” he added, as reported Friday by ABC News.

He seemed to be suggesting that the president lost fair and square in Georgia — and that he lost specifically because he’d allegedly done a lousy job campaigning in the state.

The suit’s filing came a day after the president’s campaign presented Election Day surveillance footage that they claimed showed election supervisors in Fulton County booting poll workers and then suspiciously pulling out “suitcases” and continuing to count more ballots themselves.

The footage quickly went viral and piqued even the attention of Georgia Gov. Georgia Kemp, who later that evening delivered a statement on Fox News calling for Raffensperger to conduct a signature audit.

But the secretary of state has and continues to refuse to conduct an audit — a fact that’s enraged the president and made Raffensperger a frequent target of his ire.

Last week the president described Raffensperger as “an enemy of the people.” Yet even in the face of so much criticism (and alleged evidence), the secretary of state continues to double down. Just this week he delivered a statement suggesting the president and his supporters are rubes who’re being bamboozled by “fantastic claims, half-truths, misinformation.”

Watch:

As of Saturday, he still had yet to personally comment on the surveillance footage unearthed by the president’s campaign, though some of his underlings had responded by dismissing the footage as a nothing-burger:
