Savage! Matt Gaetz hits back after NJ’s Dem governor tells him, ‘I don’t ever want you back in this state’

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a covidiot hypocrite (one of many), is awfully upset at Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz for violating his state’s strict coronavirus rules.

On Thursday Gaetz attended a tightly packed, unmasked party held in New Jersey by the New York City Young Republicans. When Murphy learned of the party, he snapped.

“That guy in the middle, the tall, handsome fella in the gray suit, that is Representative Matt Putz — oh sorry, Matt Gaetz,” he said at a press conference Friday after a photo of Gaetz at the party went viral among leftists on social media.

“And based upon his past performances, it is obvious being a knucklehead is not beyond the pale for him. He was actually Sarah Palin’s backup act for this event.”

Apparently, the governor has jokes — though he seems to have no moral consistency.

“I hope you’re watching Matt — you are not welcome in New Jersey, and frankly I don’t ever want you back in this state,” Murphy added.

He later reiterated these feelings on social media:

Responding to Murphy’s tweets less than an hour after they were posted, Gaetz savagely wrote, “You’re gonna regret this tweet when you move to Florida like the rest of New Jersey.”

Ouch.

Did he have a point? Yes, he did. Bloomberg reported in August that seven out of 10 moves in New Jersey have involved residents leaving the state for either Texas or Florida.

“Coronavirus flight is particularly high in New Jersey and New York, where two thirds of United Van Lines’ moves are for relocations out of those states,” the outlet reported.

While Bloomberg abstained from deeply exploring the reasons for this growing exodus, it’s believed that the draconian lockdown restrictions being imposed by the likes of Murphy have made life too unbearable for a large number of people.

For instance, during the height of the lockdowns, nine of the states with the highest unemployment rates were run by Democrats, including New Jersey. Conversely, the top five states with the lowest unemployment rates were run by Republicans. Coincidence?

In a column published at the time, renowned economist Stephen Moore argued that this was no coincidence.

“This is exactly as Arthur Laffer and I predicted in a study we conducted back in March on the economic effects of lockdowns,” he wrote.

“States with very strict business shutdown and stay-at-home orders would be facing a much tougher recovery period than states that never shut down, like Utah and Wyoming, and states that rapidly reopened, such as Arizona. This would be a bifurcated red state, blue state recovery – and so it is, so far.”

As of October, New Jersey’s unemployment rate remained at a relative high of 8.2 percent, whereas Florida’s unemployment rate was down to 6.5 percent.

The theory, therefore, is that blue-state residents from places such as New Jersey have been fleeing to red states such as Florida to take advantage of the employment opportunities and better life conditions that have been engendered by their anti-lockdown governors.

While Gaetz neglected to mention it in his replies, there’s also another factor to consider: Murphy’s notorious covidiot hypocrisy.

During the height of the pandemic in June, he participated in a jam-packed Black Lives Matter march:

And then last month the governor was spotted at a restaurant eating dinner with his unmasked family. While the state’s policies permit not wearing a mask while eating at a restaurant, it still annoyed people because there wasn’t even a mask in sight.

Not until the governor was confronted did he finally pull out his mask:
