Now that the voting is over — even if interpreting those votes isn’t — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Friday she’s now ready to get around to delivering relief to desperate Americans impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Christmas just three weeks away, Pelosi signaled that she is willing to agree to a smaller deal, which is what Republicans have been advocating for the last several months.
Pelosi ripped into a reporter for pointing out that the deal could have been reached “months ago,” telling him if he wants an answer he will present his questions to her liking.
“I’m going to tell you something, don’t characterize what we did before as a mistake as a preface to your question if you want an answer,” she said, before adding that she was “very proud” of how things proceeded.

Surprisingly, that reporter turned out to be CNN’s Manu Raju, who shared his take on events in a tweet.
The speaker didn’t seem to grasp — or care? — that she admitted in her response she intentionally blocked a coronavirus stimulus measure for months until she got a deal without “‘other considerations’ in the legislation that we don’t want.”

Pelosi indicated to reporters a bipartisan deal will be reached in the next few days — the goal being to pass an emergency COVID-19 bill and an omnibus spending bill to prevent a government shutdown, according to The Hill.
“We’ll take the time we need and we must get it done,” she stated. “We cannot leave without it.”
House Republican Whip, Rep. Steve Scalise responded to a Politico reporter noting that Pelosi held out 6 months for a “big deal.”
“Nancy Pelosi is finally admitting she let businesses die and families struggle for months all because of the election,” Scalise tweeted. “Democrats see this entire crisis as leverage to play politics. Sick.”

Here’s a sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
This is despicable, @SpeakerPelosi.
Many Americans desperately need help in the face of this pandemic. Congress must act on the real needs of the American people, not spend precious time on frivolous political games.
This is a total shame and a sad admission by the Speaker. https://t.co/BzuSaqyHc3

What a monster! @SpeakerPelosi prolonged the suffering of Americans so that Trump would lose. She hurt you and lied to you America. She should be ashamed but she is incapable. Shame on anyone who voted for her or any Democrat. https://t.co/CkD4Dwg4k9

That is Pelosi and Schumer’s ONLY concern…politics.
Businesses and families will continue to struggle with all of these career politicians playing their games.

Pelosi admitting that she delayed covid relief to help Democrats in the election proves Dem leadership absolutely does not care for working class Americans
