Reports of Dem voting record ignites major firestorm as Lin Wood, Powell suggest Republicans boycott Ga. Sen race

Tensions are running high among conservatives right now because of a growing rift centering on the pivotal, upcoming Senate race in Georgia.

If President Donald Trump fails in his challenges of the 2020 presidential election, and Republicans lose the Senate race in Georgia, then Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden will be elected president with full, unequivocal power.

And so it’s of extreme importance to conservatives, including the president himself, that Georgia Republicans vote for incumbent Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.

Case in point:

Yet two of the attorneys ostensibly fighting on the president’s behalf, Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, have been urging Georgia Republicans to boycott the election.

During a joint press conference Wednesday, Powell said, “There should not be a runoff. I think I would encourage all Georgians to make it known that you will not vote at all until your vote is secure, and I mean that regardless of party.”

Wood added, “Where’s Kelly Loeffler? Where’s David Perdue? They outta be standing right here. They have not earned your vote. Don’t you give it to them. Why would you go back and vote in another rigged election, for god’s sake! Fix it! You gotta fix it!”

Wood, who lives in Georgia, has vowed to personally “boycott” the election.

Look:

To be fair, he’s always coated his threat of a boycott with stipulations that, if followed, would be enough to convince him to go ahead and vote.

The problem is that one, the president himself — whom Wood is supposed to represent — hasn’t called for a boycott or issued any stipulations.

And two, a widespread boycott of the Georgia race could lead to Perdue and Loeffler losing, a fate that could engender devastating consequences for all Americans:

  • The implementation of the Green New Deal.
  • The national adoption of California’s catastrophic AB5 bill.
  • The packing of the Supreme Court.
  • The elimination of the filibuster.
  • The passing of Medicare-for-All.
  • The mandating of transgender bathrooms/locker rooms.
  • The expansion of censorship.
  • Etc.

And so because of all that’s at stake, Wood and Powell have now become targets of some conservatives, including even the “right-wing” folks at Breitbart.

On Wednesday the conservative publisher ran a stunning report accusing Wood of being a long-time Democrat voter who not only voted for former President Barack Obama but then went on to vote for Perdue’s challenger in the 2014 midterms.

“Georgia records show that Wood has voted in every general election dating back to 2000, in person in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014 — and then via absentee or mail ballot in 2016, 2018, and 2020,” Breitbart reported.

“State records also show that Wood has not voted in a Republican primary since 2004, but did request Democrat ballots in the 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2018 primary elections in Georgia. That means that even when Trump was president, in the 2018 midterm elections, Wood requested a Democrat primary ballot in Georgia.”

Some conservatives have also pointed out that Democrats en masse have been extolling Wood and urging Republicans to listen to his supposed wisdom.

All of the folks seen above are far-left personalities who’d love to see the agenda of the Democrats’ most radical members — think AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar — be implemented, yet here they are praising Wood.

None of this is to suggest that the legendary attorneys — both Wood and Powell — aren’t staunch supporters of the president. It does however seem to raise concerns about their judgment calls, especially at a time when America’s future hangs on a precipice.

Responding to Breitbart’s reporting late Wednesday, Wood fired off a set of tweets accusing the publisher of being “dishonest” and arguing that voting in the Georgia race is pointless right now because “the runoff election will be rigged too.”
