Biden’s White House communications team filled with women from liberal news networks

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is raising eyebrows with his picks for his White House communications team, as many are coming from left-wing news networks like CNN and MSNBC.

In a statement on Sunday, the Biden-Harris transition team noted that “for the first time in history, these communications roles will be filled entirely by women.” That said, several of the incoming communications team have longstanding ties to previous Democratic administrations and establishment media outlets.

In addition, the statement noted that Jen Psaki, a veteran Democrat operative, will serve as incoming White House press secretary should Biden be named president-elect next month.

Psaki held a number of roles during the Obama administration and only recently left CNN as a contributor to manage communications for the Biden-Harris transition, Fox News reported.

“The election means we have lost another CNN contributor, but by the same token, the Biden team has gained a senior adviser,” CNN host Anderson Cooper said on Sunday as he brought Psaki back on to discuss the transition.

Cooper’s leftist network colleague, Jake Tapper, who has complained for years about the “revolving door” between Fox News and the Trump administration, tweeted on  Sunday announcing Psaki’s role in the Biden-Harris transition without ever mentioning that she was employed by the network.

Also, Symone Sanders, who will serve as a senior adviser and chief spokesperson for Harris, was also a CNN contributor before she left to become press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sander’s second failed bid to win the Democratic Party nomination earlier this year.

And Karine Jean-Pierre, who will become the Biden administration’s principal deputy press secretary, previously was a political analyst for NBC and MSNBC. In addition, she was the chief public affairs officer for the far-left group moveon.org and held several different roles in the Obama-Biden administration.

In a recent interview, DePauw University professor and media critic Jeffrey McCall told Fox News that “blending in recent years of influential people working within the news media and in government” tends to be confusing for the public because it blurs the lines between the media industry and official service.

“Several of Biden’s new appointments are people who served in government, then went to media gigs, and now are returning to government,” he said.

“This sort of constant migration back and forth between media and government gives the public the distinct impression that government and media are basically part of the same establishment,” McCall added.

In May 2019, Psaki drew criticism for suggesting that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) “stop following the rules” in order to drum up impeachment charges against President Donald Trump.

“We need to more rule-breakers on the Democratic side and not play by the game that has always been played,” Psaki said during a segment with her employer, CNN.

“I will say, in this case, Nadler … I hope he’s not following the rules. Yes, the legal rules,” she clarified.

“But we need to be more rule-breakers on the Democratic side and not play by the game that has always been played because we’re dealing with Donald Trump and we’re dealing with an administration that has not always played by it,” she added.

Psaki was also ripped for dishonesty during her stint as Obama’s communications chief.
