Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline blasted the 2020 election cycle, calling it the “most lawless” in the history of the country.
“I think that this was one of the most lawless elections in U.S. history,” Kline, director of the Thomas More Society’s Amistad Project, told The Epoch Times.
The former state AG’s group is involved in election-related litigation in a number of battleground states, along with private attorneys including Sidney Powell and the campaign of President Donald Trump.
Citing several allegations of outright vote fraud and ballot manipulation, Kline says the end result is fewer Americans having faith in the election process moving forward, which he and others believe will ultimately be injurious to the country.
“All you have to do is compare the conduct with what the laws are in the state legislature. And they used COVID fear to justify lawlessness, and within that lawlessness they created a system where we can’t have faith, and now we’re proving that all the flaws had a direct impact,” Kline told The Epoch Times.
“It’s real clear if people step back and look at it. This was a lawless election. And it was lawless in the same framework and design in all of these key swing states, particularly in the urban areas that are controlled by blue elected officials. The evidence is clear,” he added.
The Amistad Project is working with the Trump campaign to prepare and spearhead lawsuits nationally and in various states.
“We are excited to have the Amistad Project as a partner in the fight to ensure the integrity of our elections,” presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani said earlier this month.
“The Amistad Project has uncovered an organized effort involving multiple private organizations and partners working with government officials to design, fund, and implement an improper and illegal scheme to create an unconstitutional two-tiered election system to deliver the presidency to Joseph R. Biden,” he added.
“We bring these legal actions only after rigorous investigation and careful evaluation. As far back as 2019, we had concerns that novel election practices would taint the vote,” Kline added at the time.
“The pandemic and additional election changes accelerated these concerns and our on-the-ground research over the past two weeks has made it clear that the lawsuits are essential to protect the integrity of America’s democracy,” he noted further.
The Amistad Project has co-joined lawsuits in Wisconsin and Michigan, both of which allege that hundreds of thousands of votes were illegally cast. At present, Biden appears to have won both states.
However, Kline says he believes that at least some of the cases will wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court.
“There is obvious evidence to present to the Supreme Court that a two-tier election system was created with the help of private funds,” Kline told the outlet in reference to a group funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg that handed out grants to 2,500 election offices around the country.
“I do think there’s also the possibility of state attorneys general and saying it’s wrong for states to manage elections so dramatically different, and it disenfranchises the voters of one state as compared to another in the presidential election,” he added.
Earlier this month, the Republican Attorneys General Association appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that upheld an extension for receiving mail-in ballots. Later, the nation’s highest court ordered Pennsylvania election officials to segregate those ballots as justices considered the case.
Kline said that case comes down to one thing: Did what the state supreme court order differ from what state law says? He believes the answer is yes.
