Wisconsin recount participants forced to wear poop emoji wristbands – election officials not ashamed

Given how the overwhelming majority of people on the right feel about the dubious outcome of the 2020 election, which has been marred by widespread allegations of voter fraud, poop emojis are a fitting introduction.

The problem is, they were being given out at the Wisconsin facility where a ballot recount was being conducted.

Local conservative talk radio host Vicki McKenna tweeted an image of a poop emoji wristband being used at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee, asking the Wisconsin Elections Commission why this was acceptable.

“A recount volunteer says she and others were forced to wear these bracelets to participate in recount. Staff, attorneys and volunteers all wearing them,” McKenna  tweeted. “Do these people NOT take elections seriously?”

Wristbands were used each day to show participants have passed a health screening, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

With President Trump’s campaign ponying up $3 million, the Wisconsin Elections Commission approved a recount of presidential votes in two Democrat-dominated counties, according to Fox News.

Wisconsin was one of several critical battleground states where the president held a lead on election night, only to see it disappear as counting continued into the night.

“They are finding Biden votes all over the place — in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. So bad for our Country!” Trump tweeted at the time.

A new survey out from Politico shows that 79% of those who voted for Trump believe the election was stolen, with nearly two-thirds not accepting the results — the “level of distrust in election results is unprecedented,” the survey noted.

The state elections commission disavowed any role in selecting the wristbands, as did the Milwaukee County Election Commission, the Journal Sentinel reported.

Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson shrugged the incident off.

“I always thought it was chocolate ice cream, personally,” Christenson told the paper.  “Wisconsin Center is our vendor. They handle the logistics. They are probably just pulling what they have in stock, because this is the first opportunity they’ve had to be open in quite some time due to this pandemic. So again, it’s a non-issue. Everybody got one.”

He added that “some people” are frustrated that the recount — which was ongoing — will confirm that Biden won.

“I think this shows that some people are just desperate for any controversy that they hope will distract from the fact that the recount is going smoothly and will confirm the results reported on election night,” Christenson said.
