On Saturday a federal judge appointed by former President Barack Obama coarsely rejected a bid by President Donald Trump’s legal team to block the certification of Pennsylvania’s 2020 presidential election results, slamming the president’s legal team in the process.
Yet in a stunning joint statement issued later that evening, the president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and senior legal adviser, Jenna Ellis, graciously thanked U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Brann for the rejection.
In Brann’s scathing ruling, he slammed Trump’s legal team for not being “formidably armed with compelling legal arguments,” described their case as “Frankenstein’s Monster” and said that what they seek is “unhinged.”
The ruling was issued four days after Giuliani personally argued the case and, in the process, earned praise from Ellis for a job well done:

Brann felt differently.
“One might expect that when seeking such a startling outcome, a plaintiff would come formidably armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption, such that this Court would have no option but to regrettably grant the proposed injunctive relief despite the impact it would have on such a large group of citizens,” he ruled.
“This Court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations, unpled in the operative complaint and unsupported by evidence.”
He added that Giuliani’s case isn’t enough to justify “the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state. Our people, laws, and institutions demand more.”
He further noted that even if Giuliani had proved his claim, the court couldn’t technically grant his request because “a court may not prescribe a remedy unhinged from the underlying right being asserted.”

The ruling garnered widespread approval and cheers from the institutional left and the corporate and non-profit entities it effectively controls, including Wikipedia.
According to conservative commentator and Fox News host Mark Levin, Wikipedia changed its biography of Brann to include a snippet about how he “became briefly famous when he presided over a case which was part of President Trump’s attempt to steal Pennsylvania’s presidential electors.”
As of Sunday morning, the snippet was no longer there.

Giuliani and Ellis responded to Brann’s ruling hours late Saturday with a veritable thank-you note.
“Today’s decision turns out to help us in our strategy to get expeditiously to the U.S. Supreme Court. Although we fully disagree with this opinion, we’re thankful to the Obama-appointed judge for making this anticipated decision quickly, rather than simply trying to run out the clock,” they wrote in a public statement.
They added that their immediate plan calls for seeking an “expedited appeal” to the Third Circuit and suggested that they’re confident victory will eventually be theirs.
“There is so much evidence that in Pennsylvania, Democrats eliminated our opportunity to present 50 witnesses and other evidence that election officials blatantly ignored Pennsylvania’s law denying independent review. This resulted in 682,777 ballots being cast illegally, wittingly or unwittingly,” they wrote.

Their conspicuous confidence may stem from their belief that the Supreme Court’s conservatives justices are inclined to rule in the president’s favor.
Just a day before Brann’s ruling, four of the court’s six conservative justices were assigned — as part of customary circuit assignments — districts that include four of the battleground states where the president’s team has filed lawsuits:
— Justice Samuel Alito was assigned the 3rd Circuit, which includes Pennsylvania
— Justice Clarence Thomas was assigned the 11th Circuit, which includes Georgia
— Justice Brett Kavanaugh was assigned the 6th Circuit, which includes Michigan
— Justice Amy Coney Barrett was assigned the 7th Circuit, which includes Wisconsin
The assignments were reportedly made by Chief Justice John Roberts.

Meanwhile, the president took to Twitter late Saturday to defend Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Kelly, a Republican, for filing a new lawsuit that also calls for the state’s upcoming certification of the 2020 race to be blocked and for the state’s GOP-led legislature to choose electors.

He also slammed Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden for “quickly forming a Cabinet” despite not having been certified as the president-elect yet.
Why is Joe Biden so quickly forming a Cabinet when my investigators have found hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes, enough to “flip” at least four States, which in turn is more than enough to win the Election? Hopefully the Courts and/or Legislatures will have….

It appears his end goal is for the Supreme Court to throw out ballots that he believes were cast illegally and for GOP legislatures to stack the Electoral College with pro-Trump electors. Whether or not the plan will work remains unclear.
