President Donald Trump on Sunday brushed aside a call from frequent critic Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) for him to concede the 2020 election to Democratic rival Joe Biden.

The president was responding to comments Cheney, who chairs the House Republican Conference, made that were reported by Politico suggesting that Trump was harming the country by refusing to concede.

“America is governed by the rule of law,” the chair of the House Republican Conference said in a statement.

“The President and his lawyers have made claims of criminality and widespread fraud, which they allege could impact election results. If they have genuine evidence of this, they are obligated to present it immediately in court and to the American people,” the statement continued.

“If the President cannot prove these claims or demonstrate that they would change the election result, he should fulfill his oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by respecting the sanctity of our electoral process,” she added.

In response, Trump accused Cheney of being upset with him for seeking to withdraw American troops from endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which he pledged to do during his 2016 campaign.

“Sorry Liz, can’t accept the results of an election with hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes cast, enough to easily flip the Election. You’re just unhappy that I’m bringing the troops back home where they belong!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The troop withdrawal jab is a familiar one for the president. In July, he accused Cheney of being “upset” with him for wanting to get the country out of “ridiculous and costly Endless Wars” after she posted a picture of her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, wearing a mask, an attempted jab at Trump for refusing to endorse them during the pandemic.

“Liz Cheney is only upset because I have been actively getting our great and beautiful Country out of the ridiculous and costly Endless Wars. I am also making our so-called allies pay tens of billions of dollars in delinquent military costs. They must, at least, treat us fairly!!!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Cheney had also praised the country’s lead immunologist and member of the COVID task force, Dr. Anthony Fauci, whom Trump has publicly disagreed with, calling him “one of the finest public servants we have ever had” who is “not a partisan.”

The previous month, Cheney, the chamber’s third-highest-ranking Republican, called on the White House to “explain” a report that Russia was funding bounties on U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

As for the president’s claims of widespread vote fraud, his campaign legal time including attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell both say they have obtained significant amounts of evidence including witness testimony and reams of signed affidavits they say proves their allegations.

Amid demands for proof, Powell told Newsmax TV she is preparing a case in Georgia, which just certified its results for Biden on Saturday, that will be “Biblical.”

She also claimed that at least “35,000 votes” were added to Democratic candidates in at least one state, though she said she suspects the same number of votes were added to Democrats in other states as well.
