Members of the mainstream left-wing press suffered a collective meltdown this weekend after Fox News host Tucker Carlson mocked the allegedly poor grammar of a black “journalist” known for playing the role of victim.
During Friday’s episode of Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the host played a clip of PBS White House correspondent and frequent NBC News contribution Yamiche Alcindor speaking and then slammed her afterward for her poor grammar.
The clip showed Alcindor spouting the following extremely long sentence:
“So you have President Trump selling this idea that there’s a deep state conspiracy theory against him, that he’s the number one victim in America, so if he gets indicted, if he even goes to jail, he might sell that idea to the millions of people who voted for him, and he might become even more powerful, and that’s what the GOP is really scared about — that’s why you’re seeing not that many people stand up to him.”
After she finished speaking, Carlson took aim.
“It’s just unbelievable on every level, a correspondent who can’t speak in a grammatically correct sentence,” he said.
Listen:
It’s not clear what about Alcindor’s sentence was grammatically off-putting. Perhaps he thought it was a run-on sentence?
“Run-on sentences, also known as fused sentences, occur when two complete sentences are squashed together without using a coordinating conjunction or proper punctuation, such as a period or a semicolon,” Grammarly notes.
But Grammarly further notes that a “long sentence isn’t necessarily a run-on sentence.” A sentence becomes a run-on sentence only if separate sentences aren’t joined together with proper punctuation.”
Regardless, Carlson is an equal opportunity critic known for bashing a wide number of “journalists,” Democrat politicians and even Trump allies.
His attack specifically on Alcinor nevertheless provoked a snide “rebuttal” from her:
I know I’m doing something right when @TuckerCarlson is threatened by my reporting and making baseless claims about bad grammar.

Calling Carlson, a 51-year-old father of four children, a “boy” seemed rather crude, no?
Her “rebuttal” in turn conveniently brought the wider public’s attention to Carlson’s remarks, triggering outrage and accusations of “racism” and “sexism” from her fellow media figures and “journalists.”

The sentences are perfect (not that that’s the point or that it’s important). It wouldn’t matter what @Yamiche did. This is simply racism and misogyny. Look at his manner and how it gives him away – he is oozing acrid nastiness from his every pore. pic.twitter.com/EGCagtprKb

Correcting Black people’s grammar sometimes isn’t about the actual grammar at all. It’s a microaggression racists use to covertly belittle us.

I think we all know what he’s talking about.

A not-so-subtle racist trope from Tucker “We Report on UFOs” Carlson. I’m sorry you have to deal with this nonsense.

Ew. Sadly they are just revving up to be even more insufferably racist and sexist in the Kamala-era.

The sneer and the laugh and the racist trope (when in actuality your grammar was perfect)—it’s like a perfect storm of assholeness.

To be fair, the “Tucker is racist” angle was spouted by Alcindor’s defenders, not her — or at least this time. She has a personal history of crying “racism” and “sexism” whenever she’s criticized or challenged over her habitually BS narratives.
After the Kenosha shootings in August, she smeared alleged shooter Kyle Rittenhouse by falesly portraying him as a gun-slinging loon who’d purposefully opened fire on “unarmed” so-called “protesters.”

In reality, Rittenhouse is a teen who showed up in Kenosha to protect businesses from left-wing extremists and wound up having to open fire in alleged self-defense after two of those extremists attacked and tried to kill him.
Alcindor never rescinded her false narrative or apologized. Nor did any of her fellow “journalists” seek to hold her accountable for lying. But the moment Carlson mocked her for allegedly poor grammar, these same “journalists” rushed to the rescue.
It’s ironic, because the FNC host had specifically been speaking about the media’s relentless narcissism when he bashed Alcindor’s grammar.
After taking aim at her grammar, her continued by saying, “The dishonesty of it. Framing this as another clever conspiracy by Donald Trump. But of course it’s about the media. They’re narcissists. Everything’s about them, of course.”
“They want to keep talking about Donald Trump. They need to keep talking about Donald Trump. And if that means sending people to prison for the wrong political views, it is worth it.”
His remarks had concerned the growing number of high-profile left-wing figures who’ve called for the prosecution and “deprogramming” of the president and his supporters.

Carlson believes the left — including members of the media — support such endeavors because they’d allow them to keep publishing “Trump, Trump, Trump” stories and thus keep their Trump-era ratings going even if Joe Biden is inaugurated as president in January.
