Unable to pass up a chance to push a divisive, race-based message of class warfare, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., just had to weigh in on 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse getting out of jail Friday, although things didn’t end so well for the socialist lawmaker.
L. Lin Wood, an attorney representing Rittenhouse, who is facing first-degree intentional homicide and attempted homicide charges for killing two people during an August protest in Kenosha, Wisc., tweeted on Friday that his client is out of jail — his legal team is claiming self defense and video of the shootings may support that assertion.
“Fake News CNN,” as the network is often referred to by many Americans, to include President Trump, reported that the high school student was released after posting $2 million in bail. Rittenhouse has been in jail since late August.
Ocasio-Cortez, who was known in high school as Sandy Cortez, attributed the teen’s release to racism and being “privileged.”
People who argue that dramatic changes to policing, including budgetary ones, will mean “violent people will be let out of jail to roam free” rarely ever acknowledge that’s actually the current system we have today for the privileged https://t.co/MXnm6h3PdZ

Of course, if there’ anyone in America who’s privileged it would be Ocasio-Cortez, as a social media user pointed out.
The individual tweeted: “You spout off nonsense all day, every day – and no media members give you and your idiocy the withering critical examination you so richly deserve.
Let’s be honest – nobody is more privileged than you. You spout off nonsense all day, every day – and no media members give you and your idiocy the withering critical examination you so richly deserve.
That’s real privilege.

In further characterizing Rittenhouse bailing out as “systemic racism,” AOC said it was representative of the “protection of white supremacy baked deep into our carceral systems.”
The Democrat denounced the established process of bailing out of jail as “law and disorder,” this from a party that looks to do away with cash bails and release everyone — well, almost everyone.
Does anyone believe Rittenhouse would be released if he were Muslim & did the same thing in a diff context? For people who say “systemic racism doesn’t exist,” this is what it looks like: protection of white supremacy baked deep into our carceral systems.
Law and disorder.

New York City leads the nation when it comes to turning out criminals on the street with no bail, who frequently return to criminal activity as soon as they are out — the revolving door is a national joke.
Noted conservative blogger Matt Walsh reminded Ocasio-Cortez of the case involving a New York man who assaulted a 92-year-old woman after 100 previous arrests, asking where was her concern then?
Hi @AOC this guy viciously assaulted a random 92 year old woman. He had 100 previous arrests and was still able to walk the streets. I dont remember you expressing any concern over this? It happened in your city recently. Why didn’t you speak out against his privilege? https://t.co/YStjU2MwDc pic.twitter.com/7g3tweFW0n

As for her claim about Muslims being treated differently, this was quickly shut down by a social media user who pointed to an Aug. 2018 incident at a New Mexico compound where children were allegedly being trained to commit mass shootings.
The inhabitants arrested there were Muslim and as seen in the Associated Press report here, they would be released.

Here’s a sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter that suggests AOC may want to think through her next rushed response to a breaking story:
How many people released through NY’s no bail system have committed other violent crimes?
Meanwhile a 17 y/o with no criminal history has to get a 2 million dollar bond to be free.
And this is your evidence for privilege.
Okay.

Your silence is deafening were it concerns violent, radical leftist protestors who attack federal law enforcement officials, burn down buildings, and attack innocent bystanders.

Privileged? Most of the money for his bail that was set astronomically high at two million dollars came from donations from people not because he is privileged and just had two million dollars genius.

It’s horrifying really; that a representative of our government in such a position of power and influence doesn’t understand due process.

@LLinWood I believe @AOC is looking for a little defamation action.
— Ben (@freld) November 22, 2020
Short answer Matt, @AOC doesn’t care. She knows she got the Dem vote locked up. I work in her district and she never comes around.
— Amber (@NYCdeb8tr) November 22, 2020
Because @AOC is so woke that she understands when people of color commit crimes it’s because they have been opposed their entire lives, but when white people commit crimes it’s because they’re white supremacists.
