With the state of Georgia in the process of a hand recount of presidential ballots, Fox News host Sean Hannity ripped the top two Republicans in the state in responding to the discovery of nearly 2,600 ballots in a Trump-friendly county.

Hannity called out Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger over their handling of the election, saying they “seem completely clueless.”

Drilling down, the Fox News host expressed concern over what he called a two-tier signature match process involving mail-in ballots — a consent decree was signed in March after a lawsuit by Democrats argued that minorities were disproportionately affected when ballots were rejected over signatures.

“As I said hours ago, 2600 uncounted votes discovered in Georgia — a majority of which were cast for President Trump,” Hannity said Monday night. “Tonight, there is also serious concern surrounding the consent decree in Georgia which allows for two signature verification standards in the state. One for in-person voting and a different, more relaxed standard for mail in ballots application.”

“I don’t think it’s brain surgery to figure out that there should only be one standard for every person who votes in Georgia,” he stressed. “They should be checking signatures against the same database that Election Day voters had to meet with those that requested mailing ballots. It’s that simple.”

With naming names, Hannity was clear about who is responsible.

“The Republican governor, Republican secretary of state seem completely clueless,” he continued. “Have no motivation, apparently, whatsoever to change the obvious double standard before the Senate runoff election on January 5th — that may end up being the biggest Senate races in the country’s history.”

President Trump responded to the Georgia recount in a tweet censored by the social media platform, calling the recount “meaningless” because of consent decree, which the president said was “unconstitutional.”

Attorney L. Lin Wood has filed suit against Raffensperger in response to the consent decree, claiming he “unilaterally, and without the approval or direction of the Georgia General Assembly, changed the process for handling absentee ballots in Georgia, including those case in the general election.”

The secretary of state, who argues that he only strengthened” the process, is already mired in controversy, after accusing Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., of suggesting that legal ballots in his state be thrown out — a claim he failed to support Monday during an appearance on CNN.

Sens. David Purdue and Kelly Loeffler, both Republicans from Georgia, have called Raffenspenger’s management of Georgia elections “an embarrassment for our state.”

The senators are in a fierce run-off battle to retain their seats and they are calling for his resignation.

“The mismanagement and lack of transparency from the Secretary of State is unacceptable,” they said in a joint release. “Honest elections are paramount to the foundation of our democracy. The Secretary of State has failed to deliver honest and transparent elections. He has failed the people of Georgia, and he should step down immediately.”
