Meghan McCain took to social media Sunday afternoon to talk about how her father lost the 2008 presidential election with dignity, before spewing anti-Trump venom about how President Donald Trump and his family will “melt down” should he lose to Democratic nominee Joe Biden, resulting in “absolute bedlam, anger, and hysteria.”

What the co-host of “The View” doesn’t seem to grasp is that in the eyes of many, Sen. John McCain “lost” with dignity before most Americans ever cast their votes because of his refusal to take off the gloves while campaigning against Barack Obama.

McCain, who let it be known early on that she will vote for Democratic nominee Joe Biden, also doesn’t seem to grasp that the McCain family wasn’t the typical American family, given her father’s storied lineage.

“When my Dad lost in ‘08, he huddled my brothers and sisters in a corner and said buck up, we’re the luckiest people in the entire world and we’re not going to feel sorry for ourselves, we made history,” she tweeted. “He then thanked the secret service and told them to go home to their family.”

Having sufficiently canonized her family, McCain then set her sights on the Trump family.

“I predict the extreme polar opposite, insane level of meltdown, blame shifting and absolute bedlam anger and hysteria from the Trump family if they lose,” she added.

Notice that she didn’t quite have the courage to predict that Trump will lose, just that he will melt down if he does — McCain turned to Twitter to express her views ahead of the election because she is still on maternity leave after having a baby on Sept. 28.

Count McCain among the cabal that suggests Trump will not leave office peacefully if he is not reelected.

Of course, business owners boarding up their businesses in Washington DC and New York City are doing so because they fear Trump will lose, they’re doing so because of the expected melt down on the left.

One thing Americans can be sure of, with a number of Democrat-run states extending deadlines on accepting mail in ballots — North Carolina will accept ballots 9 days after the election — should the race be really close, McCain may get to see the “bedlam” she speaks of.

Not so surprisingly, the bulk of those responding in support of McCain’s tweets seem to be liberals, but here’s a quick sampling of the other side from Twitter:
