Let there be no doubt that the greater the alleged scandal, the more it pays to be a Democrat.
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly responded to a simmering story about a top aide for Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti being accused of sexual harassment, noting that if the Democratic mayor was a Republican rising star, the story would be everywhere.
A number of men have accused Mayor Garcetti’s top advisor, Rick Jacobs, of sexual misconduct. Yashar Ali, an established journalist who has contributed to Huffington Post, NBC News and New York Magazine, reported last week on sexual assault allegations over a six year period.
Citing Ali’s reporting, Kelly said “Democrat golden-boy” Garcetti was “accused of willingly, repeatedly ignoring his top aide’s alleged bullying, abuse & harassment of multiple staffers, male & female,” and that he “openly laughed at the abuse.”

Ali reported that a 23-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department who served on the mayor’s security detail filed a lawsuit against the city, alleging Jacobs routinely assaulted and harassed him.
In a surprising turn, the reporter shared that he had personal experience with Jacob’s aggressive sexual behavior.
“The allegations laid out in [Officer Matthew] Garza’s complaint sounded familiar to me because, over the course of a decade, from 2005 through 2015, Jacobs used to forcibly kiss me on the lips when I encountered him through my previous work in politics,” he wrote.
Ali also reported that he discovered others who have had similar encounters with the mayor’s former deputy chief of staff.
The refusal by Garcetti, who is considered a potential Cabinet appointee in a Biden administration, to take formal, public action against Jacobs, who is still advising the Democrat, prompted Ali to push ahead with his story.
Here’s more from Ali on the mayor allegedly ignoring what was happening:
Garcetti was often present for Jacobs’ harassment and assault, Garza says in his complaint, noting that “Mayor Garcetti was present on many, if not most of the occasions when Jacobs made sexually inappropriate comments, but the Mayor took no action to stop the comments from being made or even identify the comments as being inappropriate. On some occasions, the Mayor would laugh at Jacobs’ crude comments.”
Garza says that on more than a dozen occasions, Garcetti staffers apologized to him for Jacobs’ conduct.
But Garza isn’t the only one who says he has been treated this way. Two sources told me that Jacobs grabbed them without consent and forcibly kissed them at fundraisers in front of Garcetti. The mayor’s reaction? To watch and then laugh it off as he continued to greet people.
Jacobs would take a leave of absence from a non-profit he ran and his political work after Ali’s story came out.
Garcetti spokesman Alex Comisar told the Los Angeles Times that the mayor didn’t witness any harassment.
“The city and mayor were not told of any allegations of harassment prior to LAPD Officer Garza’s lawsuit,” Comisar insisted. “These statements attributed to Mayor Garcetti, his wife and chief of staff are false.”

To politicians campaign funding is their golden calf…

100% true. All of LA business and legal world knows this. Everyone hates Rick Jacobs. He’s detestable, despicable. Deserves the dark slide to obscurity. Good riddance.
