A police officer in Florida is under fire after he was seen wearing a pro-Trump mask Monday at an early voting site.

Not just a pro-Trump mask, the message on the mask read: “TRUMP 2020; NO MORE BULLSHIT.”

It didn’t help matters that Officer Daniel Ubeda was spotted by Steve Simeonidis, the chair of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party. Not only did the attorney cry foul, he also accused Miami of “city funded voter intimidation” — after all, the uniformed officer was carrying a gun.

“Here is @CityofMiami Police Officer Daniel Ubeda, in full uniform with badge and gun wearing his Trump mask inside of the polling location in government center,” Simeonidis tweeted, along with a photo of the officer. “This is city funded voter intimidation. Ubeda should be suspended immediately.”

The photo was taken early Monday in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center in downtown Miami, as the first day of early voting got under way in Florida.

And if Trump supports didn’t already love Officer Ubeda, they certainly may when considering his response to Simeonidis when the Democrat official moved to take a photo.

“I just said, ‘Excuse me, officer, I just want to take a picture,’ and he made some snide comment,” Simeonidis told Buzz Feed. “He called me ‘sweetheart’ or something like that — just complete disregard of the fact that he was intentionally intimidating voters at the polling location.”

Ubeda was at the early voting location to cast his ballot, according to the officer’s union representative, who told the Miami Herald that Florida statute permits police officers to vote in uniform.

Fraternal Order of Police President Tommy Reyes said Ubeda had just voted and was in the building for no more than 10 minutes when the photo was snapped.

“We would also like to state that the national FOP has endorsed President Donald Trump’s reelection,” the union chief added.

City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, a Republican, and Chief of Police Jorge Colina agreed that the officer’s behavior was “unacceptable and “a violation of departmental policy.”

The mayor added that “disciplinary measures will be taken.”

“It’s a violation of departmental orders. A police officer is supposed to be impartial,” Suarez said at a news conference. “Irrespective of who the person was, whatever sign it would have been, it would’ve been problematic.”

Deputy Police Chief Ron Papier told the paper that “appropriate disciplinary action” will be taken against Ubeda.

“Obviously this is a clear violation of our department policy regarding campaigning while on duty,” Papier said. “Additionally, the mask has offensive language, which is also a violation of department policy.”
