Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon blasted Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden less three weeks ahead of the November election, accusing him of being a “national security risk” because he is “compromised by Chinese cash.”
In an exclusive interview with Revolver News, Bannon discussed last week’s bombshell revelations first reported by the New York Post detailing alleged corruption involving the former vice president and his son, Hunter Biden.
According to the Post, it was Bannon who first alerted the paper in late September to the existence of the allegedly incriminating evidence, which was discovered on a laptop Hunter Biden reportedly dropped off at a Delaware computer repair shop last year but then abandoned.
After Bannon was brought on board to assist with getting the information out to the public, he “worked up and executed the roll-out plan” of the materials, he told Revolver News.
A copy of the hard drive was then given to the Post in recent weeks by President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.
“Joe Biden is a liar, a fraud, and compromised by Chinese cash. In short, he is a national security crisis,” Bannon told the outlet when asked what the “most incriminating” evidence discovered on the hard drive.
“The hard drive combines emails and text messages that show a massive involvement with companies controlled by the Chinese Communist Party,” Bannon said.
“Also, there are 25,000 images that show a drug-addled, depraved lifestyle — one that decent hardworking Americans will not want near the White House,” he added.
Bannon, who was interviewed twice by former special counsel Robert Mueller and who was recently indicted by the Justice Department on allegations he and others defrauded donors to the “We Build The Wall” organization, also ripped the FBI for doing nothing with the materials on the original computer hard drive after the bureau seized it last year.
“The president must confront the director of the FBI on why the information housed on this hard drive was not moved on immediately,” Bannon said.
“If the content of the hard drive had been released when received in November 2019, there would have been no impeachment of Trump, and [Sen.] Bernie Sanders would be the Democratic Party nominee,” he said, adding bluntly: “This confrontation should take place this weekend in the Oval Office. If Wray doesn’t have a bulletproof reason he should be fired in the room.”
The former Trump adviser isn’t alone in questioning Wray’s apparent reluctance to pursue allegations of wrongdoing suggested by some of the evidence on the laptop.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), head of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, noted in a letter to Wray this week that investigators have met with the shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac. He also asked if the FBI has investigated the contents of the computer hard drive and if so, whether any evidence of criminality was uncovered.
“The committee must know whether the FBI has assessed the validity of materials the whistleblower has provided, and what, if any, actions the FBI has taken since obtaining this information,” Johnson wrote.
In his interview, Bannon it’s highly likely that foreign intelligence agencies including those in Russia and China are also in possession of the materials, meaning Moscow and Beijing, among other countries, could use them to blackmail a President Biden.
“The CCP [Chinese Communist Party], Russian Intel, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Intel Services — they know the Bidens are for sale,” Bannon said.
He also claimed that “multiple stories” are going to break over the next several days “from multiple media courses based on evidence beyond the hard drive.”
“We already have set in motion the various apparatuses that will release everything,” Bannon said.
The former Trump administration official and editor of Breitbart News also praised the New York Post for agreeing to publish the information contained on the hard drive after reportedly verifying that it was authentic.
“The Russia excuse — and it is an excuse — collapsed when Fox verified the information with someone on the email chain,” he said, a reference to efforts by Trump opponents in the media and pundit class to claim, without evidence, that the materials on Hunter Biden’s computer were planted by Russian intelligence.
One cybersecurity expert told The Daily Caller that emails obtained from the laptop could be “absolutely verified beyond a shadow of a doubt” if metadata files were made available for review.
But Bannon says other actions taken by the Bidens are already proving damning.
“The Biden campaign has yet to say these emails or photos are not real. The reason? Hunter’s lawyer sent emails trying to recover the hard drive. These are real — the Bidens know they are real — and they are going to have to deal with that reality,” Bannon said.
