MSNBC host Joy Reid has teed up yet another conspiracy theory, this time whether President Donald Trump, through his rhetoric, could be aiding and abetting “domestic terrorism” in the context of the alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
As a critic of the governor, Trump famously tweeted out “Liberate Michigan” in an April 2020 tweet in response to the strict COVID-19 lockdown orders imposed by Whitmer.
In a surprising (to no one) response, the stridently left-wing channel’s national security analyst appeared to agree wholeheartedly with the host of The ReidOut.
“If this were virtually anyone else, Joy, their name would be added to the subject line of the investigation. They would be looked at for instigating violence, for aiding and abetting, for conspiring. There would be a serious sit-down at the very least, and they’d be shown the dots that are connected between their rhetoric, their encouragement, and actual acting out violently. This is the president of the United States,” retired FBI agent Frank Figliuzzi claimed.
“We have an attorney general who keeps pointing to the far-left and trying to draw some kind of equivalency between extreme organized violence on the right and violent protests on the left,” Figliuzzi continued in his diatribe. “The equivalency isn’t there. We’ve got a vice president, Joy, who in his debate with Kamala Harris, when asked what his role would be if the president refused to step down after a certified election, refused to answer the question.
“That gets received by violent extremist groups as a wink and a nod. It’s okay to act out if we don’t get our way in the election.”

Fortunately, the FBI managed to infiltrate the plot against Whitmer with confidential informants and foiled it. More details are likely to emerge beyond what is contained in the criminal complaint against six men in the group.
That being said, MSNBC needs to brush up on current events. Left-wing anarchists have been fomenting violence and destruction in numerous cities across the country. Moreover, it’s the Democrats who still haven’t accepted the results of the 2016 election.
Plus, in a video widely shared on social media, an alleged participant in the purported plot against Whitmer states that he’s no fan of Donald Trump.
“Trump is not your friend, dude…he’s shown over and over and again that he’s a tyrant,” the man insists in one of several videos from at least two suspects.
Wow! This is big. Brandon Caserta, one of the ringleaders of the group of men arrested for a plot where the group planned to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, hated President Trump too!

Any normal person realizes that the POTUS wants his disagreements with lockdown-loving, anti-Trump, mostly Democrat governors to be resolved peacefully in the courts, by legislation, or by direct vote of the people.
In a series of tweets, Trump countered the liberal narrative pedaled by MSNBC and other outlets, by pointing out that it was law enforcement agencies in his administration that thwarted the dangerous plot and arrested the alleged suspects. “I do not tolerate ANY extreme violence. Defending ALL Americans, even those who oppose and attack me, is what I will always do as your President!,” he wrote, in part.

…I do not tolerate ANY extreme violence. Defending ALL Americans, even those who oppose and attack me, is what I will always do as your President! Governor Whitmer—open up your state, open up your schools, and open up your churches!

Twitter users also challenged MSNBC’s latest anti-Trump conspiracy theory. Here is a sample:
Seriously people this station is like the digital Enquirer. The stories are just bizarre and they wonder why nobody takes them seriously

Everyday I think the media can’t get any worse, but here we are. They literally are the enemy of the people.

I guess MSNBC has never grasped the meaning of a time line. The FBI started this investigation 8-9 months before the alleged inflammatory words were allegedly spoken.

Is their pay scale dependent on the most outrageous story they can come up with.

That’s how they keep their jobs….. the more outrageous the story, the better the job security

Frank FigNewton knows nothing about the plot. They were Anarchists.

The Beatles should also be investigated for the Manson murders. We will then move onto Jodie Foster for the Reagan asassination attempt. Trump doesn’t help things at all, but crazy people are crazy people and they interpret things as directions.

Parenthetically, on October 2, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that Whitmer’s draconian COVID state-of-emergency orders were unconstitutional without first getting approval from the state legislature.
