Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, got into another row with billionaire Mark Cuban, who more or less confirmed the player-dominated NBA is smarting from dismal ratings during the Finals.
Cruz and the Dallas Mavericks owner got into an online feud in July over player protests during the national anthem and the NBA’s cozy relationship with Communist China.
On Tuesday, Cruz responded on Twitter to a report from Hannity.com on the Finals ratings, tweeting: “Not surprising. Personally speaking, this is the first time in years that I haven’t watched a single game in the NBA Finals.”
The article said, “The NBA continued to hemorrhage fans over the weekend when their final championship series was viewed by less than 5 million Americans each night; the lowest recorded since the association started keeping track back in 1994.”

The tweet included the hashtag #GoWokeGoBroke,” which is a reference to the NBA fulling embracing the left’s racial justice political narrative, to include plastering on every team court, “Black Lives Matter.”
Cruz did not tag Cuban, but the owner was spoiling for a fight and soon responded.
Having made his wealth during the dot-com era, Cuban took exception to the fact that there are three NBA teams in Texas and that Cruz was “rooting” for them to do poorly, which would impact the “thousands of people” employed by the teams.
“This is who you are @tedcruz. Every minute of your life, this is exactly who you are,” he spewed.
Never one to back down from a challenge, Cruz responded by educating Cuban on an important point, that being that “the NBA is engaged in a concerted effort to (1) insult their fans & (2) turn every game into a left-wing political lecture. That’s dumb.”
I love @HoustonRockets & have rooted for them my entire life. I happily cheer for the Spurs & Mavericks against any non-TX team.
But @mcuban the NBA is engaged in a concerted effort to (1) insult their fans & (2) turn every game into a left-wing political lecture. That’s dumb. https://t.co/uKSgvPhEcq

And while Cuban may take his angst out on the Republican senator, the truth is there are plenty of fans who feel the same way.
Fans who are repulsed by the BLM banners proudly displayed by the league — this being an organization founded by people who have admitted that they are “trained Marxists.”
Adding to their dismay, the NBA’s primadonna superstar, Lebron James, is not only a raging liberal, but a spoilsport who pouts and stomps his feet like a child when things don’t go his way.
As the left is wont to do when they get outmatched and outpointed, Cuban resorted to profanity as he endeavored to show just how “woke” he is.
“You are so full of sh**,” he responded to Cruz. “You haven’t watched a game of the finals, how would you know what is being said or done? Since when is a desire to end racism an insult to anyone or political? And you don’t think using #GetWokeGoBroke is a partisan insult? Again, this is who you are.”
Having long since staked out the intellectual high ground, Cruz casually fired the coup de grâce from his perch.
“I wish @mcuban loved his fans as much as he loves Chinese money,” the lawmaker tweeted.

Even though Cuban, who has publicly pledged to vote for Democratic nominee Joe Biden next month, insisted earlier that his noble fight to end racism wasn’t political, he comically deflected from a focus on China by essentially spouting the Democratic Party platform.
Shame on me for putting American Civil Rights and Justice, creating jobs, growing our economy and healthcare reform over twitter proclamations. https://t.co/MPMBPVKKgI

Of the many online responses to the spat, one social media user summed things up well:
A few notes for @mcuban:
1. Your goal isn’t to end racism. It’s to silence anyone who disagrees with you.
2. Ignoring No. 1, here’s how much progress you’ve made in ending racism: ABSOLUTELY none.
3. How about condemning actual injustice in China? You’re already rich, right?— David, A.K.A. Guardian Mega (@og_guardianmega) October 6, 2020
