But subsequent reports have since confirmed that President Trump did, indeed, undergo brief oxygen therapy at the White House shortly before departing for Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday, per the recommendation of pulmonologist Dr. Sean Conley.]
A black supporter of President Donald Trump said he traveled an hour-and-a-half to stand outside Walter Reed Medical Center with other supporters because he’s “gonna fight for him.”
In an interview with Breitbart News reporter Ali-Jae Nicolai, a man who identified himself as ‘Reggie’ explained why he came to the hospital where President Trump is currently recuperating from COVID-19.
“Well, I saw a few Trump supporters on television last night, and since I live an hour-and-a-half away, I thought it would be important for me to come out here and show my support for the president, and to show how much I love him and what he’s doing for our country,” the man responded.

“I know many people tell me I shouldn’t support Trump because of the color of my skin,” the unidentified man continues, “but they never ask me, ‘Why Trump?’
“He is fighting for America,” he said. “He is for America. I’m for the American way. I’m for the American way. That is why I am here today. To show love and support…for our president.
“He’s been fighting for us, I’m gonna fight for him,” the man added.
During her Friday night program, Fox News host Laura Ingraham said she received a message from White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who said Trump sent him down to hand out chocolates to supporters on the street that he saw outside from his hospital window.
The president was admitted to Walter Reed on Friday after White House physician Dr. Sean Conley initially said in a letter to Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany that both he and first lady Melania Trump, who has also been diagnosed with the virus, were going to recover at the White House.
Initially, CNN’s senior White House correspondent reported that a source told him Trump’s illness was more “serious” than the administration was saying and that the president required supplemental oxygen.
“I talked to a Trump campaign advisor a short while ago who said that this is serious. That the president has been having some trouble breathing, that he’s been very fatigued today, very tired,” Acosta told host Anderson Cooper.
But the White House immediately debunked the report, with Conley stating specifically that Trump was “doing very well” and “is not requiring any supplemental oxygen.”
“This evening I am happy to report that the President is doing very well. He is not requiring any supplemental oxygen, but in consultation with specialists we have elected to initiate Remdesivir therapy. He has completed his first dose and is resting comfortably,” Conley said.
The drug Remdesivir has shown promising results in trials.
On Saturday, the White House released photos showing President Trump working at the presidential suite in Walter Reed. Also, the president released a video to the country indicating that he is well and continuing to recover.
“I came here I wasn’t feeling so well. I feel much better now,” Trump said. “We are working hard to get me all the way back, I have to be back because we still have to make America great again. We’ve done an awfully good job at that, but we still have steps to go and we have to finish that job.”
