White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany is just too quick for elitist liberals who fancy themselves journalists, as seen Thursday in a contentious exchange with CBS News White House Correspondent Paula Reid.
The media was still pushing the white supremacy narrative introduced by Fox News debate narrator Chris Wallace two days prior in an attempt to paint President Trump as a racist, and Reid did her part when she engaged in a disrespectful back and forth with McEnany over what she claimed to be Trump’s “mixed” record on the issue.
“You’re saying that he condemns it. I have his record right here. It’s mixed. His record is mixed,” the veteran reporter said.
Reid asked if the White House agreed that “racially motivated violent extremism” is a deadly threat and what the administration plans to do about it — she was not talking about Black Lives Matter rioters sacking American cities and assassinating Trump supporters in the street, but the mythical threat of white supremacy.
McEnany responded by detailing actions taken by the president, but when Reid saw she wasn’t getting the desired soundbite, she began interrupting the press secretary.
Again and again, Reid rudely talked over the president’s spokesperson as she tried to provide an answer.
“You need to let me finish,” McEnany told Reid, after informing her that “this is not a debate.”

“It is quite funny that the media goes haywire about interrupting in debates and then chooses to pursue that very same tactic themselves,” she would add. “This is a White House briefing. You ask a question, and you give me time to answer.”
Boom!
And talk about ironies, the hypocritical CBS reporter tweeted this the night of the debate:
Husband: Why can’t the moderator cut their mics when they interrupt? #PresidentialDebate #Debate2020
— Paula Reid (@PaulaReidCNN) September 30, 2020
The daily briefings are as combative as ever, with reporters determined to use the occasion to score points against the president, and after the exchange with Reid, her cohorts in the media dishonestly reported that McEnany “defended” the president’s comments on white supremacy — a demonstrably false narrative in and of itself.
The more Trump denounced white supremacy this week, the more the media asked him to denounce it, as if it was some kind of racket. Or a media strategy.
The Media really doesn’t want you to see this video.
President Trump has repeatedly denounced the KKK, David Duke, Neo-Nazis, and White Supremacists.
If they wanted people to know the truth they wouldn’t be asking the same question for 4 years straight.

But then, the more the media pushes the narrative, the better one understands how fearful they are about how much support Trump may have in the black community.
Much like the nation saw in 2016, the left seems to be relegated to trying to convince Americans that Donald Trump is a racist — never mind that the strategy failed then.
As for the elitist White House press pool, they are so consumed by hatred for Trump that they cannot seem to grasp that rational Americans no longer trust anything they say and have stopped listening.
Here’s a sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:

She went off and I loved it 👏🏻😂 The freaking journalists kept interrupting her rudely just like students interrupt a teacher.

They clearly don’t want answers. We don’t have a free press; we have communist propagandists.

It’s hysterical that members of the WH correspondents pool actually think people don’t see them floating from narrative to narrative. This is literally why most folks outside of their ecosystem don’t listen to them.

Why is @PaulaReidCBS filibustering @presssec‘s answer? It’s not a debate. This is bizarre and unprofessional. She should be replaced. @CBSNews

The press is in a panic. President Trump was able to get Biden to disavow the Bernie Sanders wing of the party.
Huge mistake for Biden, his voter enthusiasm will drop even lower.— Chip (@chipnjaz) October 1, 2020
As a former reporter, these media briefings are a joke. You asked your question. Let her answer. You may not like the answer. But let her answer the question. Interrupting her serves no purpose. If you don’t like the answer, let her finish and ask a follow up.

Perhaps most disturbingly, the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway noted the press seems more determined than ever to stick to their narrative no matter what evidence is placed in front of them:
Holy crap. This is crazy to watch. I've noticed this for years and have commented on it publicly, but the actual words that Trump or his administration speak and their actions do not seem to have any influence at all on the narrative, the questions, the stories. https://t.co/d9Qsop4nY4
