It’s official: Reported U.S. presidential aspirant Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, are avid fans of the arguably extremist Black Lives Matter movement.

In a Zoom interview with The Evening Standard scheduled this Thursday to mark the beginning of Black History Month, the duo praised BLM as a “beautiful thing,” unveiled a campaign meant to draw attention to “people of color” in the U.K. by highlighting the contributions of only “Black British ‘trailblazers,'” as reported by The Guardian, and called for an end to so-called “structural racism.”

Their campaign was formally announced by them via a column published the same day.

“Black History Month allows us all an opportunity to reflect upon the often unrecognised contributions people of colour have made that add to the richness and strength of this great nation. It is a month that celebrates the diversity of our community and of black British excellence,” they wrote.

It’s not clear how focusing on only one race helps promote diversity. Real diversity involves the type of mixture of people of different races and political opinions that was seen at the MAGA YMCA dance party last month.

Nevertheless, speaking with The Evening Standard, Harry suggested that for the sake of his brand of “diversity,” it’s important that black contributions be given extra attention.

“[T]he UK is incredibly diverse and London especially is one of the, celebrated as one of the most diverse cities in the world, yet if you actually get out on the streets and you actually talk to people, I think it is… it’s not always as… it doesn’t feel as diverse as it actually is,” he said.

“And therefore now is the best time for us to be able to use our platform, joint with your platform as well, so that we can actually start a conversation and introduce people to the black community that are making a massive difference within their own communities but across the UK as a whole as well.”

He added that he was inspired to take action because of an “awakening.”

“I’ve had a sort of an awakening as such of my own, because I wasn’t aware of so many of the issues and so many of the problems within the UK, but also globally as well. I thought I did, but I didn’t,” he said.

Markle then took the mic to speak about her perceptions of the BLM movement and its radical founder, Alicia Garza, a self-avowed Marxist with ties to Communist China.

“[W]e had the fortune of talking very early on this year, when the Black Lives Matter and the racial justice movement in the US was coming to a head after the murder of George Floyd, we spoke with Alicia Garza, one of the founders of Black Lives Matter,” she said.

“And as she could reiterate, the impetus is really just about reminding people of your worth. And I think, you know, as we’ve seen different iterations of it, what has been inflammatory I think for a lot of people is when any version of a community becomes disruptive.”

She was presumably talking about the many instances in which BLM “protests” have devolved into full-fledged riots that have left businesses destroyed and innocent people dead.

Also, George Floyd was only “allegedly” murdered. The case hasn’t been adjudicated yet, and some evidence exists suggesting his death was the result of an overdose.

But when there’s just peaceful protests and when there’s the intention of just wanting unity and just wanting recognition of equality, then that is a beautiful thing actually,” Markle continued.

She then seemed to defend the more sinister elements of BLM, saying, “[W]hile it has been challenging for people certainly in having to make this reckoning of historical significance that has gotten people to the place that they are, that’s uncomfortable for people. And we recognise that, it’s uncomfortable for us.”

“And I think when everyone just starts to own that, we push through that and focus on how do we make it different moving forward? And if we just focus on the uplift and the positivity of that, while still acknowledging the past, that’s where we reshape things, and that shouldn’t be inflammatory at all. That should be really exciting actually.”

Yet nearly everything about the BLM movement has been “inflammatory,” from the harassment of innocent people to the demands made of whites, the destruction of property, the looting of stores and the loss of life.

It doesn’t help that the movement is rooted in the dubious assertion that non-whites lack certain opportunities allegedly afforded only to whites. It’s what the likes of Markle and Harry call “structural racism.”

“As we look at society today, there has been unquestionable progress in the three decades since Black History Month was formally established in the UK, yet in many ways sufficient progress has not been achieved,” they opined in their op-ed.

“For as long as structural racism exists, there will be generations of young people of colour who do not start their lives with the same equality of opportunity as their white peers. And for as long as that continues, untapped potential will never get to be realised.”

It’s not clear if the couple realizes the irony of their words …
