Ex-NFL player Marcellus Wiley figuratively celebrated in the end zone after news broke that BLM had apparently scrubbed anti-nuclear family sentiment from its website.

The co-host of FS1’s Speak for Yourself took to Twitter to call out his detractors. “Heard too many people tell me that I was wrong for misinterpreting BLM’s mission statement and I took their words out of context. You were saying???” He added two hashtags, one of which was apology accepted.

He added, in part, that “Seems some have forgotten I navigated from the bottom of this system…Blessed to be an example of how important a nuclear family is to reaching your full potential…”

The now-deleted ‘What We Believe‘ page previously outlined some of the movement’s key objectives including a call to disrupt the Western family unit, BizPac Review reported earlier this week.

Wiley, who played 10 years in the National Football League as a defensive end for four teams and previously worked at ESPN, mostly disagreed all the time with former SFY co-host Jason Whitlock during the on-air debates.

At least insofar as BLM, he is starting to sound like Whitlock. 2.0 to some degree.

During the summer, Wiley offered a non-woke TV commentary against the backdrop of the National Basketball Association painting Black Lives Matter on the playing floor.

“I don’t know how many people really look into the mission statement of Black Lives Matter, but I did. And when you look into it, there’s a couple of things that jump out to me. And I’m a black man who has been black and my life has mattered since 1974. And this organization was founded in 2013 and I’m proud of you, but I’ve been fighting this fight for me and for others a lot longer.”

“Two things: My family structure is so vitally important to me. Not only the one I grew up in but the one I am trying to create right now. Being a father and a husband, that’s my mission in life right now. How do I reconcile that with this, the mission statement that says, ‘We dismantle the patriarchal practice. We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement.'”

He went on to list the societal challenges associated with single-parent families.

Whitlock recently left Fox Sports to join Clay Tavis at Outkick. As part of his ongoing “BLM 101” series in which he encourages pro athletes to go beyond superficial groupthink, Whitlock reacted to the news that the webpage in question had disappeared.

“BLM is executing a coverup. As we saw with the Nixon presidency, the coverup reveals the severity of the crime. BLM’s “what we believe” page originally exposed the movement’s heavy Marxist influence…People are finally looking beyond BLM’s catchy slogan and evaluating the actual agenda. The agenda is Karl Marx’s anti-God, pro-communism political theory. BLM scrubbed its ‘what we believe’ page because smart people are distancing themselves from BLM…

“BLM is backpedaling from its own founding principles because those principles are being rejected by people with a modicum of common sense.”

Whitlock also asserted that “The clowns running corporate America,” including Roger Goodell, Adam Silver, and Rob Manfred, the commissioners of the NFL, NBA, and MLB respectively, “should be held accountable for lacking the substance to stand against this destructive movement.”
