Meghan McCain provided a much-needed history lesson for the liberal ladies on The View who were predictably hand-wringing over President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell planning to fast-track a replacement for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the U.S. Supreme Court.
While joining her TV colleagues in honoring Ginsburg’s legal legacy, co-host McCain described the smearing of now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh a game-changer for many Republicans who were “radicalized” by the watching how things played out in the hearings. As a result, undecided voters who might be pro-life will become galvanized to back Trump in the election even though Democrat fundraising has gone through the roof after Ginsburg’s passing, she claimed. She also slammed the left for advocating court-packing and threatening violence if McConnell puts through a nomination.

While claiming that partisans on both sides are behaving badly over the politicized nature of Supreme Court nominations, McCain predicted, moreover, that Judge Amy Coney Barrett, if Trump picks her, will be slandered unmercifully by the left.
“Kavanaugh really changed the game for a lot of Republicans, myself included. I was completely radicalized by the experience of watching him testify. There were accusations of him being someone who had been part of a rape gang…and accusations that were completely baseless, and it showed that Democrats…will do anything and everything to smear any conservative,” McCain asserted.
While acknowledging that there is hypocrisy in play on both sides when it comes to an election year confirmation, McCain reminded her co-hosts that former Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid created a polarized situation by eliminating the judicial filibuster, which enables court nominees to get an up or down vote, on an expedited basis.
“Amy Coney Barrett is a hardcore Catholic. Among other things, she has seven children. I completely expect her to be, if she is the nominee, to be slandered and maimed in a way we’ve never seen before. I don’t think that’s what anyone wants. My last and final point…this turns the election into battleground core meat-and-potato issues, and if you are pro-life, like I am and 47% of the country is, it becomes for you a reason to support president Trump if you were someone that was wavering.”
As the segment ended, McCain specifically cautioned co-host Sara Haines about slandering Barrett by cherry-picking some of the judge’s past statements, adding that ” This is what I’m talking about with the Kavanaugh stuff.”
In response to current criticism from the Democrats and media outlets like The View, Republicans have insisted that the so-called Biden rule, a.k.a. the McConnell rule, about Supreme Court judicial confirmations in an election year, doesn’t apply when the same political party controls the Senate and the White House.
Although she has gushed over family friend Joe Biden in the past, the vocal Never Trumper might possibly be signaling that she will vote Republican after all. Interestingly enough, in the same segment, McCain slammed Never Trumpers “who got rid of their policies and every principal they ever had” as compared to voters who have sincerely held pro-life views.
Like everyone from President Trump on down, Meghan McCain pointed out there is a likelihood for a constitutional chaos over election challenges associated with universal/unsolicited mail-in ballots unless a potentially tie-breaking ninth member of the court is confirmed prior to the presidential election.
She also claimed that given his success in elevating nearly 300 Trump nominees to the federal bench, McConnell has been preparing for the current scenario as his core issue.
To Whoppi Goldberg’s credit, she did not interrupt McCain during the entire segment, unlike the way the other panelists treated GOP congressional candidate Kim Klacick on a recent episode of the liberal shoutfest.

At the beginning of the show Megan McCain particularly highlighted the deep friendship between Ginsburg and the late Justice Scalia despite their ideological differences.
