President Donald Trump has garnered widespread praise from conservatives for using the 233rd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution to forcefully push back on the subversive left-wing indoctrination of schoolchildren across America.
During a White House conference on American history this Constitution Day, he wowed the audience by signing an executive order to establish a national commission to promote traditional American history, or what he dubbed “patriotic education.”
“Today, I am … pleased to announce that I will soon sign an executive order establishing a national commission to promote patriotic education. It will be called The 1776 Commission,” he said to raucous applause.
“Thank you. Thank you. It will encourage our educators to teach our children about the miracle of American history and make plans to honor the 250th anniversary of our founding. Think of that — 250 years.”
Listen to this portion of his speech below:
The announcement came at the tail end of a lengthy speech in which he panned “the twisted web of lies in our schools and classrooms” that are being promoted in classrooms across America by the institutional left.
“On this very day in 1787, our Founding Fathers signed the Constitution at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. It was the fulfillment of a thousand years of Western civilization. Our Constitution was the product of centuries of tradition, wisdom, and experience. No political document has done more to advance the human condition or propel the engine of progress,” he said.
Yet, he continued, “a radical movement is attempting to demolish this treasured and precious inheritance. We can’t let that happen. Left-wing mobs have torn down statues of our founders, desecrated our memorials, and carried out a campaign of violence and anarchy. Far-left demonstrators have chanted the words ‘America was never great.'”
He added, “The left has launched a vicious and violent assault on law enforcement — the universal symbol of the rule of law in America. These radicals have been aided and abetted by liberal politicians, establishment media, and even large corporations.”
This is true. Whether aligned with Black Lives Matter or Antifa, these mobs have received endless glowing adulation and defense from the left:
Antifa, for anyone unaware, is a loose constellation of groups currently setting fire to anything flammable in cities like Portland, Seattle & NYC.
But for some reason, since they call themselves “anti-fascist” the left welcomes them as heroes.

“Whether it is the mob on the street, or the cancel culture in the boardroom, the goal is the same: to silence dissent, to scare you out of speaking the truth, and to bully Americans into abandoning their values, their heritage, and their very way of life,” the president continued.
The ultimate goal of these groups’ violent actions, he added, is “to burn down the principles enshrined in our founding documents, including the bedrock principle of equal justice under law.” It is in effect to “radically transform America.”
Sound familiar?
And the strategy for accomplishing this, the president explained, is through indoctrination of the next generation.
“Our children are instructed from propaganda tracts, like those of Howard Zinn, that try to make students ashamed of their own history. The left has warped, distorted, and defiled the American story with deceptions, falsehoods, and lies,” he said.
“There is no better example than the New York Times’ totally discredited 1619 Project. This project rewrites American history to teach our children that we were founded on the principle of oppression, not freedom.”
Yet this project is being adopted by an increasing number of schools across the country, and despite the woman who produced it being a vicious anti-white racist who’s previously disparaged the “white race” as “barbaric devils”:

Nothing about the 1619 Project is legitimate, the president continued.
“America’s founding set in motion the unstoppable chain of events that abolished slavery, secured civil rights, defeated communism and fascism, and built the most fair, equal, and prosperous nation in human history,” he said.
“The narratives about America being pushed by the far-left and being chanted in the streets bear a striking resemblance to the anti-American propaganda of our adversaries — because both groups want to see America weakened, derided, and totally diminished.”
Meanwhile, as schoolchildren are being indoctrinated with the 1619 Project, their peers in college and even in the workforce are being “inundated with critical race theory,” which the president rightly described as “a Marxist doctrine.”
According to this sick, racist ideology, “America is a wicked and racist nation,” “even young children are complicit in oppression, and … our entire society must be radically transformed” because virtually everything is racist.
As an example of this sick ideology, he then drew attention to the disturbing document seen below that the National Museum of African American History and Culture, a taxpayer-funded institution, had published on its website earlier this summer:
The National Museum of African American History & Culture wants to make you aware of certain signs of whiteness: Individualism, hard work, objectivity, the nuclear family, progress, respect for authority, delayed gratification, more. The document was eventually removed, but only after backlash erupted.
“This document alleged that concepts such as hard work, rational thinking, the nuclear family, and belief in God were not values that unite all Americans, but were instead aspects of ‘whiteness.’ This is offensive and outrageous to Americans of every ethnicity, and it is especially harmful to children of minority backgrounds who should be uplifted, not disparaged,” the president noted.
Indoctrinating kids with such nonsense ought to be construed as “a form of child abuse,” the president argued, adding that already, parents across the country are beginning “to demand that their children are no longer fed hateful lies about this country.”
The children should be learning, the president added, is that of “Martin Luther King, where children are not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
“The left is attempting to destroy that beautiful vision and divide Americans by race in the service of political power. By viewing every issue through the lens of race, they want to impose a new segregation, and we must not allow that to happen,” he said.
“Critical race theory, the 1619 Project, and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda, ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together. It will destroy our country.”
This is why he’s banned critical race theory training from the government and is now launching the 1776 Commission.

While the president’s remarks provoked predictable rage from members of the left, whose hatred for America and its founding principles seems to grow by the day, it garnered widespread praise from conservatives AND moderates.

People will say this is political, but it’s not. I watched President Trump today defend the US Constitution and America. This encouraged me. Haven’t seen it since Reagan. Some call it a “niche” argument, but it’s actually the central argument of America.

President Trump will sign an Executive Order to create “The 1776 Commission” which will promote “patriotic education”.
It’s time schools STOP teaching kids to hate their own country! Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump!

I will be honest with you: I didn’t vote for President Trump in 2016. But with this speech, he makes a sober, grounded, inspirational case for America and our future.
The stakes of this election are incredibly high—and the President has earned my vote in November.

I agree. More Americans are reaching this conclusion every day. As a parent of a K-12 student and a University student, his words ring very true to me. Time to end indoctrination and hate.
