Netflix has released a highly controversial film “Cuties” and, as many believed, it features pre-teenage girls performing overtly sexual dance moves.

The film and the streaming service was widely panned last month after Netflix released what now obviously was a carefully chosen preview that still nevertheless drew criticism for the appearance of overtly sexualizing children.

“Amy, 11 years old, tries to escape family dysfunction by joining a free-spirited dance clique named ‘Cuties,’ as they build their self confidence through dance,” Netflix says in a description of the film that The Wrap reported was picked up “out of Sundance from director and writer Maïmouna Doucouré after it won the Directing Award in the World Cinema Dramatic category at the festival earlier this year.”

“The group stands in stark contrast to her mother’s traditional values, and [Amy] soon becomes aware of her own femininity well beyond her years through dance,” The Wrap added. “She soon inspires the girls to embrace more sensual dance moves as part of their routine even as she begins to face the realities of growing up, and they hope to twerk their way to stardom at a local dance contest.”

“Undeterred by the girls’ initial brutal dismissal and eager to escape her family’s simmering dysfunction, Amy, through an ignited awareness of her burgeoning femininity, propels the group to enthusiastically embrace an increasingly sensual dance routine, sparking the girls’ hope to twerk their way to stardom at a local dance contest,” Netflix notes in its description of the series.

In the words of one Twitter user, it turns out that the film’s content is “worse than you could imagine.”

An even more sexualized and disturbing video clip from the film has been posted online as well, and it can be found here. The Twitter user who posted it explained: “I don’t even want to share this degeneracy on my timeline, but a few weeks ago people said I was making ‘too big a deal’ out of this. I hope you can now see that I wasn’t… @netflix is producing and marketing content directly for the pedo market. Disgusting.”

“I couldn’t finish watching this. Yes, It is that bad. Yes, It is that disturbing. To be honest I am almost too uncomfortable to share it, but people (left, right, & center) need to come together to get this off @netflix,” another user wrote. “Cancel culture needs to cancel this now.”

Former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell referenced the film and tagged Susan Rice, former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser and a member of Netflix’s board of directors.

**Warning: Strong language

“I assume the DC press has reached out to Netflix Board Member @AmbassadorRice for comment?” Grenell wrote.

“I am thrilled to be joining the board of directors of Netflix, a cutting-edge company whose leadership, high-quality productions, and unique culture I deeply admire,” Rice said in March 2018, when she was appointed.

Reactions to the disturbing film clips were strong, with many users saying they had canceled their Netflix subscriptions.
