Even more quickly than the American people are waking up to the realities of the oft-violent Black Lives Matter political movement, corporate America is rushing to show its support.
Such virtue signaling appears to be a better alternative than drawing the scorn of the more militant members of the movement and their liberal media allies, even though it may offends some employees and consumers.
Just ask American Airlines, which announced on Sunday that flight attendants will be allowed to wear “Black Lives Matter” pins on their uniform while on duty.
“Clearly we live in a time where it is so important to have a dialogue about this important issue of racism in our society and try to find common ground,” AA said in a statement. “American is truly committed to having an inclusive culture that is welcoming to all and a reflection of our country and world.”
“This is why American is so committed to creating a more tolerant and diverse team,” AA added. “Through our partnership with American’s office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, we are continuing to work through an overall plan for addressing these issues in our workplace.”
Turns out, not all flight attendants are on board with the gesture, as seen in an email one employee sent to management that was obtained by The New York Post.
“I take offense to this,” the flight attendant wrote. “Serious offense. My husband is a LEO (Law Enforcement Officer), as was my deceased father and as far as I’m concerned ALL LIVES MATTER.”
“I am completely disgusted at the fact that we can’t show support for our GOD, our COUNTRY, our LEOs but when it comes to BLM organization (which is controversial in itself), American Airlines says that’s obviously different,” she added. “How is that right? Well, I don’t feel included.”
Another flight attendant identified only as John said employees who refuse to wear a BLM pin will now “be ostracized and labeled as racist” — he said BLM was “a terrorist organization that promotes violence to further their agenda.”
“If this pin is sanctioned, I will wear my NYPD pin supporting the police department,” he told the Post.
A flight attendant told Fox News that if BLM pins are allowed, then they will wear a Trump pin to show support for the president.
But this may not come as a surprise to those who follow the news.

A South Florida woman was kicked off an American Airlines flight last month after a flight attendant determined the mask she was wearing featured “offensive” material.
The woman was wearing a mask that said “F*** 12,” as well as a “Black Lives Matter” t-shirt — “F*** 12” is an acronym for “F**k the Police.”
According to the online reactions to the story, the airline has just launched a battle of pins that will play out in the aisles of its planes.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
Like you have said, we are all going to have to pick a side, now we know where they stand.

Unfortunately flying with them in 2 weeks. Just ordered my Back The Blue lapel pin to wear proudly on the plane.

I realize that AA couldn’t care less, but I know 2 people (my wife & I) that will never step foot on an AA airplane again….why would we entrust our safety to people that are this weak minded!

I was a flight attendant (USAIR) wearing a Bush pin prior to election(1988) and my Supervisor came on board for a check ride and made me take it off. I wasn’t allowed to express my American choice of endorsing a presidential candidate while in uniform.
