Even as far-left rioters are being let loose by the authorities all over the country, only to go on to murder innocent people, right-wing militia members are conversely being rounded up and herded into jail, including two militiamen from Missouri.

The two men, Michael Karmo, 40, and Cody Smith, 33, both of them members of the 417 Second Amendment Militia, as reported by Heavy.com, were apprehended by authorities at a hotel in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, on Tuesday after an anonymous tipster claimed they’d traveled there to loot and possibly “pick people off.”

According to the criminal complaint against the men, Karmo told the tipster that “people were going up to Kenosha and ‘picking people off’; however, Karmo did not state that he personally would do that.”

But the tipster did reportedly claim that Karmo “was going to go to Kenosha with the intention of possibly using the firearms on people. (The witness) feared that with Karmo’s increase in conspiracy theory talks and other ‘crazy’ political talk he was not in the right mind set to have a firearm.”

As some evidence, the tipster, who it appears had been a personal friend of the duo, shared the following text messages they’d reportedly sent showing the two at a hotel with a lot of guns and the caption, “This the game changer.”

The tipster’s allegations were enough to spur the authorities into action.

“At about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, FBI agents found and detained Karmo and Smith at the hotel, which is located about 7 miles from Kenosha,” Wisconsin station WISC reported.

“After receiving consent to search Karmo and Smith’s vehicle and hotel room, FBI agents recovered an Armory AR-15 assault rifle, a Mossberg 500 AB 12-Gauge shotgun, two handguns, a silencer, ammunition, body armor, a drone and other materials, officials said.”

Both men now face charges of illegal firearm possession.

“Karmo has prior felony convictions. … Smith has a prior misdemeanor domestic battery conviction and acknowledged regular drug use. Because of their convictions, on the day they were found with the guns, Karmo and Smith were prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition,” WISC reported.

The men do not however face any charges for conspiring to loot and kill, presumably because there’s no evidence to substantiate the claims against them, including the claim that Karmo has been engaging in wild conspiracy theorizing.

According to WISC, the criminal complaint filed against him only included Facebook “screenshots … showing him posing with guns in recent years. One post that appeared to be timestamped June 2018 reads, ‘Will the real homeland security please stand up…'”

Upon being arrested, the two men claimed they’d traveled to Kenosha for the rally President Donald Trump had delivered there Tuesday.

“Smith said they wanted to see proof of the rioting in Kenosha. He told officials that two pistols were locked in the glove compartment of Karmos’ vehicle while they were at the rally. He said they brought the guns because they didn’t want to leave them unattended in the hotel room,” WISC reported.

The rally was scheduled there in response to riots by left-wing extremists that occurred last week and left multiple businesses demolished and looted and two extremists dead.

The extremists were killed when the suspected shooter, Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, allegedly opened fire as they were chasing him through the streets.

Karmo and Smith’s arrest comes as an increasing number of left-wing extremists are being apprehended by the police but then promptly released by Democrat prosecutors.

One such extremist, Phillip Lawrence Nelson of Portland, was arrested in early June for “interfering with a peace officer” during a government-sanctioned Black Lives Matter riot but promptly released with no charges by local prosecutors.

Two days later, he killed Cassy Leaton, 22, and Najaf “Nate” Hobbs, 39, over some sort of property feud:

Another extremist, Jeremy Vajko, was arrested last Saturday after he drove “into a crowd of over one hundred individuals.” Yet the next day, prosecutors not only released him but did so without filing any charges.

While Vajko hasn’t yet killed anybody, the risk alone of him snapping raises questions over the prosecutors’ decision to let him loose.

Meanwhile, there’s no evidence to indicate that the charges against Karmo and Smith will be dropped anytime soon.
