Back when Joe Biden was still coherent, he once joked about China helping him become president

Current Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden once made a joke about Chinese President Xi Jinping helping him in his own future bid to become president of the U.S.

The joke was made at the U.S.–China Strategic and Economic Dialogue in early July of 2013, roughly four months after then-Vice President Xi succeeded then-President Hu Jintao, thus becoming modern China’s 5th president.

Listen from the 3:02 mark below:

“You know, we meet at a time of transition on both sides. China has a new president and new leaders. I’ve had the great pleasure and honor of spending a fair amount of time with President Xi when President Hu and President Obama thought the two vice presidents could, should get to know one another,” Biden’s joke at the event began.

“And we ended up spending about 10 days together, five in each of our countries, traveling around, and you get to know someone fairly well.”

Next came the punchline: “When I congratulated him on his elevation, I asked if he could possibly help me. But he made no commitment whatsoever.”

In other words, Biden asked Xi if he could help him to also “elevate,” albeit here in the states versus in China.

“But all kidding aside, we welcome and look forward to the transition that’s taking place on both sides,” Biden added, indicating he’d been joking.

The reemergence of this clip comes as Biden IS now seeking the presidency, an act that is reportedly supported by the current Chinese administration.

“We assess that China prefers that President Trump – whom Beijing sees as unpredictable – does not win reelection,” National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director William Evanina said in a statement last month.

According to Michael Allen, the former majority staff director for the House Intelligence Committee, China is also taking a page out of “Russia’s playbook” by utilizing some of the nation’s disinformation strategies to hurt Biden’s opponent, incumbent President Donald Trump.

“The Chinese aren’t as adept as the Russians are at this, but they will step into the breach a little more because of this unique situation with COVID-19 The country is in a state of trauma. People are angry. And when they’re out there seeking information, and it’s readily available in a variety of forms, that’s a ripe environment for foreign interference and disinformation,” he told Business Insider.

In other words, the Chinese are reportedly trying to use disinformation against Trump just like the Russians have allegedly been using disinformation Biden and had used disinformation against then-Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The difference is that Russia’s campaigns have been treated with an almost cartoonish level of concern fear and outright paranoia, whereas China’s current campaign is seemingly being brushed aside.

Suffice it to say, there are no reports about potential collusion between Biden’s camp and China. And MSNBC conspiracy theorist Rachel Maddow isn’t busy concocting bizarre theories about China killing the power amid bone-chilling polar vortex conditions.

Yet unlike Trump’s history with Russia, the former VP’s history with China isn’t so pretty.

While reporting last year on how Biden’s son Hunter had suddenly acquired a high-paying job in Ukraine during the then-VP’s trip to the nation in 2014, ABC News’ Tom Llamas revealed that the same thing had “also happened in China.” He had video to prove it too.

“This video shows Chinese diplomats greeting Vice President Biden as he arrived in Beijing in December of 2013. Right by his side, his son Hunter,” he said.

“Less than two weeks later, Hunter’s firm had new business creating an investment firm in China, involving the government-controlled Bank of China, with reports they hoped to raise $1.5 billion.”

Such facts have been ignored by most in the mainstream media. Those in the media have also been uninterested in highlighting Biden’s overtures to China.

Two months ago the Democrat nominee vowed to re-enter the United States into the corrupt World Health Organization if elected president, despite the organization having become a tool for China’s goals and ambitions.

Worse, as the coronavirus began spreading across the world specifically from China last winter, Biden slammed Trump for daring to block travel from China, calling the ban xenophobic.

While testifying before House lawmakers months later in July, however, the White House’s top coronavirus expert, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, made it clear that the move had saved lives.

Listen:

On multiple occasions, Biden has stuck his neck out for China, and instead of laughing at his jokes, perhaps legislators should be asking why.
