AG Barr isn’t having ‘cheap talk’, sets Wolf Blitzer straight on ‘reckless and dangerous’ mass mail-in voting

U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr blasted “reckless and dangerous” universal mail-in voting that lacks chain-of-custody measures because it is subject to fraud and coercion and equivalent to “playing with fire in a closely divided country.”

In an interview on CNN’s The Situation Room, Barr had to educate anchor Wolf Blitzer who claimed that there is no widespread fraud associated with mail-in voting.

The AG responded that the U.S. has never conducted vote-by-mail procedures on this massive scale, which even former Democrat President Jimmy Carter warned against.

“Wolf, this is sort of cheap talk to get around the fundamental problem, which is the bipartisan commission chaired by Jimmy Carter and James Baker said back in 2009 that mail-in voting is fraught with the risk of fraud and coercion. And since that time, there have been in the newspapers, in networks, academic studies, saying it is open to fraud and coercion. The only time the narrative changed is after this administration came in. But elections that have been held with mail have found substantial fraud and coercion…

“This is playing with fire. We’re a very closely divided country here. And if people have to have confidence in the results of the election and the legitimacy of the government, and people trying to change the rules to this methodology, which, as a matter of logic, is very open to fraud and coercion, is reckless and dangerous. And people are playing with fire.”

Barr also outlined the basic problem for an apparently uninformed Blitzer with the process of sending out ballots automatically to everyone on the notoriously out-of-date voter rolls as opposed to a voter specifically applying for an absentee ballot.

“We’ve had absentee ballots from people who request them from a specific address. Now what we’re talking about is mailing them to everyone on the voter list, when everyone knows those voter lists are inaccurate. People who should get them don’t get them, which has been one of the major complaints in states that have tried this, in municipal elections.

“And people who get them are not the right people. They’re people who have replaced the occupant — the previous occupant– and they can make them out. And sometimes multiple ballots come to the same address with a whole generation — several generations of occupants.

“Do you think that’s a way to run a vote?” Barr asked Blitzer.

When Blitzer played the COVID alarmism card, Barr countered that social distancing precautions can be implemented for in-person voting, and, moreover, that anyone with a pre-existing health condition can request an absentee ballot.

Barr added that he has no problem with absentee voting and that he himself votes absentee (although he hand-carried his ballot to the government office).

Barr also raised the possibility of either domestic or foreign actors printing up counterfeit ballots. He also reminded Blitzer that the Justice Department has indicted a Texas man for vote fraud involving 1,700 ballots.

Blitzer also seems to be blissfully unaware, among other things, of the rampant Democrat vs. Democrat mail-in vote fraud in Paterson, N.J., which resulted in a judge ordering a new election.

Democrats seem to be laying the groundwork for a Joe Biden after-the-fact win with the inclusion of a huge number of mail-in ballots even with the likelihood that President Donald Trump will be the apparent victor on Election Night. With obviously coordinated messaging, Democrats in and out of the corporate media are also working hard to create a scenario that preemptively discredits opposition to blatant vote fraud.

A Democrat operative has already come forward to describe the many ways that he and his team have stuffed the ballot box with fraudulent mail-in votes in prior elections.

During pressers and on Twitter, President Trump has consistently called out Democrats for trying to steal the presidential election (and by extension, down-ballot contests) with vote fraud, using COVID as a pretext.
