Reacting to the many African-American speakers at the event, an MSNBC host smeared the Republican National Convention as a “modern-day minstrel show.”
Acknowledging that there were at least a dozen persons of color who delivered speeches in support of President Donald Trump and his agenda, Tiffany D. Cross teed up a liberal echo-chamber panel with the comment that “I watched the Republican convention, and seeing the slew of black speakers that they had, it really did look like a modern-day minstrel show to me.”
Cross, who was sitting in for far-left conspiracy theorist Joy Reid on AM Joy, also dismissively alerted her viewers that the RNC was “not a Saturday Night Live sketch.”
The very successful and diverse convention, which in part is apparently helping Trump surge in the polls, featured many inspiring luminaries.
The roster included U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, congressional candidates Kim Klacik and Burgess Owens, criminal justice reform advocate Alice Johnson, Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones, and ex-athletes Herschel Walker and Jack Brewer, among others.
Twitter users who lean toward Trump called out Cross for attempting to vilify the GOP’s legitimate efforts at inclusion, including political activist Rob Smith and others.
Here is a just a sample.
.@TiffanyDCross and @DrJasonJohnson call hard-working Black lawmakers like @SenatorTimScott and @DanielCameronAG “Minstrels” on MSNBC for daring to be Republicans and speak at the RNC.

Welcome to the RNC where you are all welcome to the same table. There is no black American table. There is no LGBTQ table. There is no Latino table. Just a welcome to all who share similar core values. That’s true enlightenment.

Well @TiffanyDCross we all know they ain’t black. Just ask @JoeBiden. After all he’s expert on this subject.

So, because they choose a different party they are not African American. MSNBC, this why no one watches your show. You shame people for freedom of choice and are a bunch of racist, bigot and hypocrites.

But isn’t this par for the course for leftist activists masquerading as journalists? Had a conservative made a statement like that all he’ll would have broken loose. The worse Biden looks the more demented these people are going to get.

So I guess if you’re not on CNN MSNBC or CBS such as yourself they ain’t black ether, the “real” blacks are backing Joe Biden who’s done way more harm in his nearly 50 years in Washington than Trump has, just check Biden’s record and statements he’s made but I doubt you will

For decades they’ve been saying that unless the Republican party appealed to a changing demographic, the GOP would disappear. They got their wish – what are they bitching about?
— Doug Kenney (@Acyalone) August 30, 2020
@TiffanyDCross what a bigoted and racist thing to say……are you implying black people can’t think for themselves? They are only allowed to think how other black people think? How dumb is that?
