Only 20% of NBA players voted in the last election

Despite their purported woke activism and calls for change, 80 percent of National Basketball Association players reportedly didn’t even vote in the last election.

This revelation emerged after a series of players’ meetings that led to and ended a boycott of the playoffs that lasted two days in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisc.

According to ESPN’s Undefeated website, “NBA Players’ Association president and Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Chris Paul has been able to get all of his Thunder teammates registered to vote, according to a source…only about 20% of eligible NBA players voted in the last election.”

Similarly, Fox Sports reports that Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers chided the players that “you guys gotta look in the mirror to create real change. You guys are making this stand, only 20% of you guys are registered voters. That needs to be 80-85%,” according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

The NBA playoffs are occurring in a COVID-related Florida bubble at Walt Disney World, which is ironic in that the multimillionaire players appear to be immersed in an ideological bubble, as many on the left find themselves these days.

Rivers recently lashed out at Trump supporters the focus on law and order during the Republican National Convention rather than police brutality against African-Americans.

Rivers and vocal Trump foe LeBron James, who is touting a voter-registration initiative, apparently believe that the players should vote for Joe Biden even though the Democrat nominee has done nothing to change alleged systemic racism even after nearly 50 years in politics.

James evidently wanted to abandon the entire season, but that notion reportedly fell apart when younger, less-established players realized that the social justice-related cancellation would hit them in the wallet.

The Lakers superstar and other players reportedly are getting advice from Barack Obama.

While unhesitatingly criticizing America for its flaws, James and many other NBA millionaire luminaries who are banking CCP cash have kept quiet about China’s rampant human rights violations along with its attempt to crush the pro-Democracy movement in Hong Kong.

The virtue-signaling NBA has reached an agreement with the players to form a social justice coalition “that will be focused on a broad range of issues” including voting. By voting, this obviously means voting for Biden-Harris. LeBron James has already indicated that he plans to campaign for the Biden-Harris ticket as he did for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

As part of a series of articles called “BLM 101,” ex-Fox Sports pundit Jason Whitlock, now of Outkick, wrote, in part, that “As it relates to BLM, the man or woman sitting in the White House has absolutely nothing to do with how police engage with a resisting suspect. President Barack Obama was in office when Michael Brown tussled with officer Darren Wilson. The politicization of Jacob Blake is a byproduct of political dishonesty.”

He added that “Jacob Blake, George Floyd, Eric Garner and Rayshard Brooks are not examples of ‘systemic racism.’ If anything, they’re examples of ‘systemic resisting arrest’…

“The athletes are useful idiots. They’ve been talked into dedicating themselves to ensuring that career criminals are unharmed while resisting arrest and refusing to comply with police instructions.”

Whitlock maintained that the players are duped into blaming “working-class cops” while foolishly “work[ing] to elect the career politicians who created the [unfair criminal justice] system.”

In the meantime, NBA TV ratings are said to be down an estimated 40 percent year over year.
