Newt Gingrich predicts Trump win will be ‘dramatically bigger’ than expected

Appearing on Fox News’ “Watters World” late Saturday, former Clinton era House Speaker Newt Gingrich laid out the reasons why he thinks President Donald Trump isn’t slated to just win the 2020 race, but outright crush it.

I’m predicting that it’ll be a dramatically bigger victory than people currently expect because, well first of all, you see it beginning to build now,” he told FNC host Jesse Watters.

“There’s a poll just out this week in Minnesota that shows him tied with [Democrat presidential nominee Joe] Biden. And Washington state, in the primaries, the Republicans came roaring back everywhere except Seattle and have done dramatically better than they did in ’18.”

The Washington state primaries were particularly notable because of their long ties to the outcome of the general election.

“Washington’s primary has a long record of forecasting the state’s general election results. …. In the past decade, the difference between Democrats and Republicans in Washington’s congressional primaries has been within five points or fewer of the partisan gap in the general election in 26 of 37 opportunities. Moreover, the party that led in the primary also won the seat in the general every time,” The Washington Post notes.

And it just so happens that Republicans boasted a higher share of the total votes this primary season than they did in 2018 in eight of the state’s 10 congressional districts.

But it’s not just in Washington state where Republicans appear to be trouncing their Democrat opponents.

“I just talked to a New York State Assembly candidate yesterday who was running in a suburban county just outside New York City, so it was a Hillary Clinton county by about 16 points. Trump’s now ahead in that county,” Gingrich revealed Saturday.

“And he said part of the violence that people are watching, you know, Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue be trashed, and they’re watching gangs starting to come into their town, and they’re saying, you know, I don’t want any more of this.”

A Morning Consult poll published in June found that 58 percent of registered voters supported the use of military aid to quell the ongoing nationwide rioting. Yet the Democrat Party, Biden included, have positioned themselves as defenders of the rioters.

It doesn’t help that Biden has chosen the “most radical member of the Senate,” Sen. Kamala Harris, to serve as his vice president, according to Gingrich.

“She’s to the left of [Sen. Bernie] Sanders and the left of [Sen.] Elizabeth Warren. I mean, you know how hard that is!? Second, she’s a terrible performer. She was at 15 percent support nationally last July. By the time she dropped out, she was down at four percent,” he explained.

“Biden actually had eight times as many African-American supporters as she did. And in her home state, she was running fourth. And 61 percent of Californians wanted her to drop out of the race. … She’s not going to last, and she’s way too radical.”

And like Biden, she’s also defended violent looters and rioters.

And then there’s Biden himself, a man whom Gingrich considers to be extraordinarily weak, quite unlike the tough-talking president.

“If you just close your eyes and imagine that we’re negotiating with [Chinese President] Xi Jinping, the very tough dictator of communist China, you say to yourself, ‘Would I like to have the U.S. represented by a guy who’s tough but has some rough edges, or do I want a guy who’s pleasant but he falls asleep halfway through the meeting?'” the former House speaker said.

But the biggest disadvantage Biden has, Gingrich suggested, is the lack of influence carried by his allies in the “propaganda media.”

“If we were in a situation where the propaganda media … was able to define everything, they would probably protect Biden up through the election,” he said

“But the fact is, and one of the most remarkable achievements of the last five years is the fact that President Trump has a big enough communication system that he can literally personally slug it out with all of the networks … and fight him to a tie.”

Former Republican presidential candidates, particularly John McCain, lacked the campaign and communication power wielded by the Trump campaign.

Suffice it to say, whereas the likes of McCain were forced to beg the media to cover them fairly (which the media never did), the president has the ability to directly reach the masses not only with the real truth about himself but the real truth about the Democrats as well.

Case in point:

“And so I have no doubt that, as the campaign keeps growing, that we can get these messages across, and we have a huge advantage. We don’t have to go out and make stuff up. We don’t have to invent some Post Office phony scandal. we just have to tell the truth about how radical these people are,” Gingrich concluded.
