It’s not so much that the radical left has a double standard, that’s long been a given, it’s more about how brazen they’ve become in applying it.
Look no further than New York City, where Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio openly acknowledged that he ignored the city’s permitting process last month to have Black Lives Matter painted on 5th Avenue, outside Trump Tower and at least four other locations, according to The New York Post.
His justification?
The hard-left mayor said the political movement “transcends all normal realities.”
“That is something that again transcends all normal realities because we are at a moment of history when that had to be said and done, that’s a decision I made,” de Blasio said Monday during his City Hall press briefing.
“But the normal process continues for anyone who wants to apply,” he added, in the same breath.

A reporter asked de Blasio if he submitted an appropriate application before painting the Black Lives Matter “street murals.”
There have reportedly been eight such murals painted in the city, three in Manhattan, two in Brooklyn, and one each in Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
The reporter also asked the mayor what his plan was for other groups that want to paint their own messages on city streets.
“Are you planning to outright deny every group that applies to do so, since you’ve already said no to two groups?” she said. “What’s your criteria?”
One of the groups denied, Women for America First, sued the city for not allowing their mural, according to the New York Post.
The pro-Trump group wanted to paint a mural of their slogan “Engaging, Inspiring and Empowering Women to Make a Difference!”

Police advocacy groups Blue Lives Matter NYC and Standing Up for NYC called for Mayor de Blasio to paint a pro-police street mural near NYPD headquarters at One Police Plaza.
“We haven’t said ‘no’ to people, we’ve said, ‘If you want to apply, you can apply, but there’s a process,’” the mayor replied, with a straight face.
He then justified the special treatment given to BLM, saying the decision came after a meeting at Gracie Mansion weeks ago with community leaders and activists, “who said this would be such an important thing for this city to declare.”
There was no permitting process pursued.
Mayor de Blasio then deferred to Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg, who let it be known that the city has the “discretion” to decide what’s important and what is not.
“Anyone can apply through our public art program,” Trottenberg said. “As the mayor has said, the city does have discretion as well on painting those projects.”
