Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has instituted broad new coronavirus lockdown restrictions slated to negatively affect nearly everybody in his state save for the left’s beloved Black Lives Matter extremists who’ve been “protesting” and rioting nonstop.
This week the far-left governor announced tighter restrictions on bars, funerals, gyms, restaurants and weddings, but looser restrictions on the large BLM gatherings that have helped exacerbate the spread of the coronavirus.
According to a summary of the restrictions published by his office this Tuesday, most of them were scheduled to go into effect Thursday and would require the following:
- Alcohol service must end at 10:00 pm.
- Vending/game areas must remain closed.
- Restaurant table size must be “reduced to five(5) individuals.”
- Indoor occupancy must be “reduced to 50 percent.”
- Bar-seating must remain prohibited.
- Indoor dining must be limited to just members of the same family.
- Indoor dining cannot be allowed at bars, taverns, etc.
- Weddings and funerals cannot contain more than 30 people or 20 percent.
- Wedding receptions are hereby prohibited.
- Gym occupancy must be reduced to 25 percent.
- Masks are mandatory.
- Etc.
Read the summary of the full guidance below:
What has astonished critics it that, while the governor has imposed tighter restrictions on most activities, he’s loosened them for large gatherings.
“[G]atherings are not to exceed ten (10) individuals in Phase 3,” the summary above reads.
That’s an increase of five individuals from Phase 1 and Phase 2 guidelines.
Of course, the violent BLM “protests” that have rocked Seattle and other Washington cities have contained far more than 10 people:

It’s not a peaceful protest in Seattle. The crowd are the aggressors. They set fire to a Starbucks right before this. pic.twitter.com/JVIiCxCPut

Here are peaceful protesters in Seattle (during a peaceful riot) peacefully using umbrellas to block KOMO’s cameras so there’s no film of the peaceful destruction of local businesses and police precincts. But sure, there are just a few agitators in an otherwise peaceful protest. pic.twitter.com/xnW75V2xli

But instead of seeking to hold these law-breakers accountable the way he’s done with business owners, the governor has defended them from critics:
I’m deeply disappointed and totally reject the language of my cousin Mike Brown who made inflammatory comments about recent protests. The language is unacceptable and just flat wrong, particularly from a law enforcement officer, as we try to heal the divisions of our community.
— Governor Jay Inslee (@GovInslee) July 7, 2020
He’s also admonished President Donald Trump for sending federal troops into the state to quell the rioting that’s left local police officers injured.
Look:
President Trump sent federal officers to Seattle because he is itching for a confrontation. He wants attention.
We shouldn’t give him either.
Keep it peaceful, keep the attention where it belongs – on building a better, more just Washington for everyone.

None of his tweets have included a condemnation of the “protesters.”
The hypocrisy and double standards are glaring and have been enough to spur vehement backlash.
Look (*Language warning):
When are you gonna reduce the number of rioters looters arsonist haters? Why should we listen to you? Drain the swamp, that includes you. Double standard anyone? pic.twitter.com/LO1tlAFKsn

It’s just getting more and more arbitrary. It’s like these governors are just trying to test exactly how much dictatorial control they can actually get away with. https://t.co/M2zVE1tWHd

@govinslee How about you discourage these gatherings, so we can beat the virus? Why the double standard?
— Ryan Medford (@RyanMedford) July 25, 2020
If this was all about wearing masks you would be doing something about the rioters in Seattle. Therefore I call Bulls*** on this entire police state tactic you’re using for nothing but political purposes. I will not stay home locked up. Go peddle your propaganda somewhere else.

By Inslee’s comments and proclamations, can we surmise that Inslee is more offended by people living lives worth living than he is by rioters that smash windows, burn buildings, deface property and assault law enforcement officers?
— Syrah Shiraz (@Syrah_Shiraz) July 30, 2020
@GovInslee Will there be restrictions on riot sizes? Can we burn and pillage in groups of 50 or less? Can we assault Peace Officers in pairs if we maintain social distancing? Please pontificate oh exalted one!

These double standards and hypocrisy have become a staple among nearly every Democrat governor in America, from Gavin Newsom in California to Roy Cooper in North Carolina.
The tragic irony is that everything they’re pushing is hurting actual law-abiding Americans. The left’s beloved riots are physically destroying businesses and communities, while their beloved lockdown decrees are pushing businesses into insolvency and families into hunger.
“Food insecurity for U.S. households last week reached its highest reported level since the Census Bureau started tracking the data in May, with almost 30 million Americans reporting that they’d not had enough to eat at some point in the seven days through July 21. … This follows deep recession resulting from the pandemic, which put millions of Americans out of work,” Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
And with Democrats like Inslee, Newsom and Cooper in charge, some Americans may forever remain out of work …
Your stay-at-home orders cost me my job and the protesters got a free pass to do whatever they wanted.
Color me unimpressed by your concerns for the health of the public.
