Left-wing folk hero Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is now recommending that Americans not only wear face masks to protect themselves from the coronavirus, but protective eyewear as well.
Speaking with ABC News chief medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton on Wednesday, he talked about how every person boasts three mucosal surfaces — one in the mouth, one in the nose and another in the eyes.
“So theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it. It’s not universally recommended, but if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can,” he added.

The remarks rubbed some the wrong way.
As it stands, a majority of Republican voters feel “the worst is behind us” as it pertains to the coronavirus, according to recent polling from the Pew Research Center, and would, therefore, like the country to begin steering toward normality again.
And so to Republicans, many of whom resent having to wear a mask and would rather just continue living their lives normally and let their immune system do its part to protect them, the notion of adding goggles to the mix is just abhorrent.
Like one critic wrote, “How long until we’re told that hazmat suits are recommended?”

What’s next a Hazmat suit? Fauci is a complete nutcase.

Funny Fauci will have us all in Hazmat Suits soon. How long will this man hide behind his protective suit (agenda)?
— shanselah (@shanselah) July 30, 2020
How about a helmet with shield, a space helmet, a hazmat suit? For the noncompliant, even though they are still social distancing, how about gather them up in boxcars with shackles & haul them to FEMA camps. You know, for their own good. 🙄

Oh good Lord. The next thing he’ll be telling us is to wear hazmat suits. The insanity of listening to this doctor has got to stop. He’s just whiffing at solutions thinking that one will finally work.

According to “mask experts”, why the hell-fire do I need to now wear eye protection to protect me when everyone else is “wearing masks to protect me”? It’s all about protecting others not me.

Honestly, why not just issue everyone a biohazard suit? I am beginning to wonder if Fauci’s real job is to mess with our heads; put out the most ludicrous statements, get everybody upset, and influence the behavior of those who are worried.

Cant someone invent a bubble so we can be completely isolated

He’s looking at the thing very one dimensionally. If we all wanted to avoid it, we’d dress like in a lab. But we can’t survive wearing masks and being infectious to each other. A vaccine, then herd immunity.
— Gregg Horn (@GreggHorn5) July 30, 2020
The latter Twitter user raised a valid point by noting that Fauci looks at the coronavirus crisis “very one dimensionally.” In fact, he himself admitted as much.
“I’m a scientist, a physician, and a public health official. I give advice, according to the best scientific evidence,” said while testifying to the U.S. Senate in May, adding that it’s not his job to weigh other factors and write policy.
Listen:
“I never made myself to be out the end all.
I’m a scientist, a physician, and a public health official.
I give advice according to the best scientific evidence. ”

The problem is that a large band of sycophants have come to believe his words with the same weight as the word of God. They’ve basically come to treat him the way they used to treat former special counsel Robert Mueller.
And so never mind all the studies and data showing, as an example, that the coronavirus lockdowns that Fauci supports have hurt more lives than they’ve saved, or as another example, that herd immunity is the best way out of this crisis.
The thinking is that so long as Fauci says it, it must therefore be true.
Except of course for when it’s seemingly not really …
And there’s Dr. Anthony Fauci showing us all he knows exactly how well masks work! Thanks for the lesson, doc. pic.twitter.com/jdHPzq5HfB
