With the liberal media engaged in some heavy duty electioneering in the run up to the November election, everything being reported must be taken with a grain of salt.
At the top of the suspect list is a Washington Post story about the Reagan Library objecting to the Republican National Committee and President Trump’s reelection campaign using Reagan’s image for fundraising.
At issue are two commemorative coins featuring the likeness of Reagan paired with images of Trump, but conservative talk radio host Mark Levin is calling foul.
“The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute owns the name, image and likeness of President Reagan and the RNC used his image for the coin without our consent,” Reagan Foundation Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Giller said in a release. “We called the RNC and asked them to cease and desist the use of President Reagan on the coin and they agreed.”
The media’s goal, of course, is to embarrass Trump, but all is not as it seems.
Turns out, the Wa-Po article included this little tidbit: “Frederick J. Ryan Jr., who chairs the Reagan Foundation board, is also publisher and CEO of The Washington Post. He declined to offer a comment for this column.”
This caught President Trump’s eye, as he responded:

But Levin dove deeper into the “huge conflict” in a series of tweets. Much deeper.
“I campaigned for Ronald Reagan in 1976 and 1980. I worked in President Reagan’s administration for 8 years. I did not realize that Fred Ryan, who is now the publisher and CEO of the Washington Post is also the chairman of the Reagan Library & Foundation board,” he tweeted. “Now, given the Washington Post’s leftist agenda, and the conservative legacy of the great Ronald Reagan, this appears to me to be a huge conflict.”

“And then I read, toward the end of the Post article, that Ryan would not comment for the article his paper wrote about the library he runs,” he added. “Well, I have spent many, many years promoting the Reagan Library and Foundation, I have had many very successful book signings there and I revere the Reagan Library. As I said, I also spent 8 years of my life supporting President Reagan and his policies, of which I am deeply proud and honored, as did thousands of others.”

After reminding followers that the purpose of the library “is to enshrine President Reagan’s fabulous conservative legacy for all time,” Levin blasted Ryan and the Post.
He also called on Ryan to give up one of his hats.
“Consequently, I am appalled that the Fred Ryan’s Washington Post and the Reagan Library under Fred Ryan’s chairmanship, would pull this publicity stunt on President Trump,” he tweeted. “And I expect the thousands of Reagan alumni who worked for President Reagan share my concern. Mr. Ryan, decide who and what you want to be, but it’s obvious you cannot be both the Washington Post publisher/CEO and the Reagan Library board chairman when there’s a clear conflict.”

RNC communications director Michael Ahrens would note in a statement that the objection “came as a surprise.”
“Given that the Reagan Foundation just recently hosted the Trump family to raise money for its organization and has not objected to us using President Reagan’s likeness before, their objection came as a surprise. Even though we believe our use of the image was appropriate, we will stop emailing this fundraising solicitation as a courtesy,” Ahrens said.

WHY would the library of a strong conservative Republican President allow a left-wing radical to manage/run it? That does not make any sense to me. I hope they don’t try to hurt or change Mr. Reagan’s image as a great conservative President!
