Acting Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli suggested Friday that Democrats such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi deserve to be sued out of some of their lavish wealth for smearing America’s federal law enforcement agents.
Speaking on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” with fill-in host Lisa Boothe, Cuccinelli specifically addressed Pelosi’s stunning decision last week to label the federal authorities in Portland, Oregon, “stormtroopers” in reference to Nazi Germany.
“I’d point people to Article 1, Section 8, Paragraphs 1. It charges the Department of Homeland Security with protecting federal properties … so we’re not only within the boundaries of the Constitution, we have a statutory charge, and that’s the mission we’re pursuing there,” he said.
“And when you see such libelous, slanderous comments from people who know better — let’s not kid ourselves, the speaker of the House knows that she’s using Nazi illusions to refer to correct professional law enforcement officers. If I was a CBP agent, if I was an ICE agent, if I was an FPS agent, I might just sue her for libel. I mean that’s what that is.”

After weeks and weeks of violent rioting and mayhem in Portland, earlier this month President Donald Trump finally sought to intervene by sending federal authorities to the beleaguered city to restore order and protect the city’s law-abiding citizens.
Upon their arrival, federal authorities were attacked and therefore had no other option but to push back, albeit rather gently compared to what was possible.
In response, Democrats and their demonstrably left-wing media allies, all of whom had spent weeks ignoring the growing violence in Portland, promptly jumped at the opportunity to smear the federal authorities as “stormtroopers,” etc.
Pelosi was among them, much to the annoyance of those who’d been watching for weeks as Portland was wrecked by endless violence and destruction.
Look:
Unidentified stormtroopers. Unmarked cars. Kidnapping protesters and causing severe injuries in response to graffiti.
These are not the actions of a democratic republic.@DHSgov’s actions in Portland undermine its mission.
Trump & his stormtroopers must be stopped.

Not a word from Democrats when these thugs are looting, rioting, assaulting people and setting fires…

Graffiti? How about explosives, hammers, knives, sledgehammers, slingshots w/ metal ball bearings, blinding lasers, pipe bombs and more? You have no clue what is going on here.

Funny how you never used such harsh language to describe the terrorists who have been destroying cities, statues of abolitionists, presidents and civil rights leaders but you jumped right away to comparing our law enforcement to Nazis. By funny I mean vile and sickening.

Other Democrats jumped on the bandwagon. California Rep. Maxine Waters said the federal authorities’ behavior was what one would see in a country with a dictator, and Florida House Rep. Shevrin Jones repeated the “stormtroopers” smear.
The media meanwhile published countless “reports” and columns kvetching about the president’s allegedly “un-American attack on civil society.”
Continuing the discussion on FNC, Boothe then asked Cuccinelli why he thinks the left has embraced the violent rioters and extremists in Portland and elsewhere. He replied by stating unequivocally that the extremists are now part of the left-wing base.
“One of the sad things right now about the political arena is that the left views an important part of their base as people who believe violence is an acceptable way to achieve your goals,” he said.
“We saw Mayor Wheeler go out last night. He is way out there, he’s radical left … he’s basically turned much of the city over to these violent criminals and, he’s tied the hands of the Portland Police Bureau.”
During violent “protests” in Portland Wednesday, Mayor Ted Wheeler showed up to try to march with the extremists. He wound up first being cursed out by the extremists and then later tear-gassed when the extremists began attacking federal officers again.
But instead of blaming the extremists for the tear gas, again he took their side:
.@tedwheeler says, “I saw nothing that provoked this response” when asked about his thoughts on federal law enforcement deploying tear gas.

Like the Democrats on the national level, he’s been treating the extremists as if they’re a part of his base. In other words, he’s sided with the modern Bolsheviks.
“The right historical analogy has nothing to do with Germany but it has to do with the Bolsheviks. Last night, that mayor was a Menshevik — the socialists who thought they can control that revolution and the bloodthirsty Bolsheviks came in and killed them all,” Cuccinelli noted.
“This mob is out for blood. They are not there to protect the First Amendment or exercise First Amendment rights.”
Indeed, though much like with the Mensheviks, it appears Wheeler will have to learn this lesson the hard way. So will Pelosi.
