Fox News host Tucker Carlson has jokingly invited the nurse who’d allegedly blown air into presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s nostrils to appear on his show and “unburden” herself of the “suffering” she’d experienced.
He made the offer Thursday, a day after Biden told an absurd, barely believable anecdote about a Walter Reed nurse (or nurses) who’d breathed into his nose.
“We’d like to speak to anybody who has blown air into Joe Biden’s nostrils. We’re on live every evening at eight o’clock, we will give you a chance to tell your story, to unburden yourself. You have suffered. You deserve a chance to talk about it, so call us,” Carlson said.

Carlson’s got jokes. Of course, Biden’s got some weird anecdotes.
During a live-stream event Wednesday afternoon with Service Employees International Union member and nursing home worker Shanrika Nelson, he made some completely bizarre, disturbing remarks about nurses breathing into his nose.
“I had a nurse, nurses at Walter Reed hospital who would bend down and whisper in my ear, go home and get me pillows. They would actually breathe in my nostrils to make me move, to get me moving,” he said.

The remarks provoked mass confusion not only along among everyday Americans — and FNC hosts like Carlson — but also among licensed nurses.

In the 41 years I’ve been nursing I’ve never done that to any patients. Not even ones in brain & spinal cord injury units who required repeated stimulation throughout the day to wake them from comas. The only time I breathed into a patients nose was when I resucitated a newborn.

Ok, this is really weird. I’ve been a practicing RN for decades. I have worked all levels of Critical Care with very seriously ill people and children. I have NEVER breathed into a patient’s nostrils to “get them going”. He is nuts.

RN here…I’ve never in my 30 yrs of patient care, nor any of my nursing co-workers or respiratory therapists EVER breathed into a patients nostrils. WTF IS HE TALKING ABOUT?!? We even use an ambu bag to do CPR…this isn’t a thing.

As an RN for many years taking care of all levels of patients from the newborn to geriatrics in the ICU, I have never breathed in someone’s nostrils. @JoeBiden is crazy!

Walter Reed either has a whole different breed of nurses or he had some good meds. As a nurse, if I have to bend down to a patients ear it’s to speak louder not whisper, if you need a special pillow, the family brings it & if it’s in your nose, it’s a nasal cannula or an NG tube.

WTH???? I am a nurse and this makes no sense!!!! He seriously is not competent!!! It is a shame to see this. I respected the former VP even though I didn’t agree with him on policy. That is gone after his drastic left turn and increasing incompetence. So sad to watch!

Like every other Biden anecdote, this one just sounds so unbelievable, as if either he’s the worst storyteller in America, or the incident in question never even happened. The evidence suggests it may be a little bit of both.
Last year Biden told a war story about trying to pin a Silver Star on a navy captain in Afghanistan. But as noted soon after by Grace Curley in a column for the Boston Herald, the story was some malarkey.
“Thanks to Google, fact-checkers and first-hand accounts, that story was quickly debunked. Turns out, Biden had mixed up some important details,” she wrote.
According to The Washington Post, “[i]n the space of three minutes, Biden got the time period, the location, the heroic act, the type of medal, the military branch and the rank of the recipient wrong, as well as his own role in the ceremony.”
“Yikes,” Curley added. “But is anyone surprised? Biden has a decades-long history of ‘exaggerating.’ In 1987 Biden plagiarized a speech by British politician Neil Kinnock in which he pretended (among other things) to be the descendant of coal miners. To say Joe has a flair for the dramatic would be an understatement.”
And nurses breathing into a dude’s nose is definitely dramatic — not to mention gross.
But who knows — maybe it really did happen, and maybe, just maybe, the nurse who suffered the indignity of breathing into Biden’s nostrils will reveal herself to Carlson and “unburden” her deep pain.
