CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta is so desperate to portray President Donald Trump in a negative light that he no longer bothers with honesty or trying to conceal his agenda.
The primadonna Trump-hating reporter, who long ago violated one of the cardinal sins of journalism, making himself part of the story, cherry-picked a comment from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Thursday, presenting the quote entirely out of context.
To hear Acosta tell it, the Trump administration just said to hell with science.
The White House Press Secretary on Trump's push to reopen schools: "The science should not stand in the way of this."

The great irony here is that this comes from the same cabal that ignores science altogether to insist that a man who fancies himself a woman is indeed a woman.
But the quote Acosta shared left out the fact that McEnany added that “science is on our side” when it comes to reopening schools, after quoting former Stanford Medical Center neurology chief Dr. Scott Adams.
Calling it a “Case Study in Media Bias,” the press secretary tweeted a clip of her full remarks.
Case Study in Media Bias:
I said: “The science is very clear on this…the science is on our side here. We encourage our localities & states to just simply follow the science. Open our schools.”
But leave it to the media to deceptively suggest I was making the opposite point! https://t.co/vlxk3zRsgh

“The science should not stand in the way of this, but as Dr. Scott Atlas said — I thought this was a good quote, ‘Of course, we can do it. Everyone else in the Western world, our peer nations are doing it. We are the outlier here,'” she said at Thursday’s press briefing.
“The science is very clear on this,” she continued. “For example, you look at the JAMA pediatric study of 46 pediatric hospitals in North America that said the risk of critical illness from COVID is far less for children than the seasonal flu. The science is on our side here.”
McEnany then encouraged state and local officials “to just simply follow the science. Open our schools.”
The outcry over Acosta’s deception was so immediate that he tried to save face with a second tweet — posted 12 minutes later.

As for the followup tweet, Acosta is well aware of how the game is played.
pretty dishonest journalism here.
CNN’s acosta cuts off the quote, doesn’t give full context, and goes viral. (15K RTs, 23K likes in an hour)
correction gets way less engagement (300 RTs, 1K likes)
media does this stuff constantly and they still wonder why nobody trusts them. pic.twitter.com/B0j049Z3WK

It would certainly seem that the president has firm footing in dismissing CNN as “fake news” when the network allows for such underhanded tactics when covering Trump.
Other media outlets took Acosta’s lead to propagate the prescribed narrative, with The Hill selectively editing a video clip to cut McEnany saying “science is on our side here.”

Acosta was so egregious in his actions that even CNN colleague Jake Tapper tweeted in support of McEnany, before addressing the matter later on air.
“She’s arguing that the science is on the side of those who want to open them, she cites a JAMA study. I’m not taking a position on the matter but be fair,” Tapper said in a tweet.
(** Language warning)
Folks read the ENTIRE McEnany comment about "the science should not stand in the way" of opening schools. She's arguing that the science is on the side of those who want to open them, she cites a JAMA study. I'm not taking a position on the matter but be fair.

The criticism of Acosta’s brand of journalism came fast and furious:
This isn’t journalism. It’s a dishonest fragment used to whip up animosity, rather than inform.https://t.co/yiCzwHbyi3 https://t.co/xZZlS8j84Y

You really are a walking shitshow. Oh, and a fraud.
— Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) July 16, 2020
Jim you’re a comms major you aren’t remotely capable of understanding “the science.”
— Cernovich (@Cernovich) July 16, 2020
He has no shame — let’s be honest, Doc.

They’re lying to you.
Media outlets & personalities (+ other left-wingers) maliciously took a @PressSec quote out of context (full below) to fraudulently make it sound like she didn’t care about the science she went on to explain supports the move to reopen schools.

The journalism of Jim Acosta requires he take every word out of context in order to mislead his sheep.
What a disingenuous hack!

LOL when @cnn corrects it's own fake news. @jaketapper @Acosta @brianstelter so so hilarious. https://t.co/vfNVYiRDzB

And the real problem is that they all pick it up because the narrative has to win. Everyone knows this is dishonest, but the narrative has been set so they run with it. pic.twitter.com/seJ5eD9M7x
