Archdiocese of Miami demands the disgusting decapitation of Jesus statue be investigated as a hate crime

And then they came for Jesus, just as had been predicted would happen …

On Wednesday morning, Deacon Edivaldo da Saliva arrived at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in West Kendall, Florida, only to find that the church’s statue of the Christian savior Jesus Christ had been toppled and decapitated.

“This morning I found it on the ground, and we presume that it is vandalism,” he said to local station WPLG.

According to Silva, while the camera boasts surveillance cameras, none of them were pointing to where the statue had stood. Nevertheless, he remains confident that the statue was toppled on purpose and not by accident.

“Obviously not, that’s for sure,” he told station WSVN when asked about the chance that perhaps it’d simply fallen. “They had some powerful hands to remove it. Seeing what is happening in our country, I presume so, but we don’t have 100% assurance.”

Seeing what’s happening in the country indeed.

Within the past few weeks alone, numerous Catholic churches from Florida to California have been hit with vandalism or arson.

Last weekend a schizophrenic, possibly anti-religious Florida man crashed into the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala and proceeded to set its foyer on fire:

That same weekend a fire broke out in the historic San Gabriel Mission in California and caused extensive damage to the 249-year-old structure. While an investigation is still ongoing, investigators are reportedly considering arson as a possible cause:

That same weekend again, vandals set a statue of Virgin Mary sitting outside a church in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston on fire:

All this happened a week after vandals in New York City daubed the words “IDOL” on another statue of the Virgin Mary — this one at a Catholic prep school:

As Silva noted to station WPLG, “We have seen this happening all over the country.”

As a result, the Archdiocese of Miami released a statement demanding the vandalism be investigated as a hate crime:

“The Archdiocese of Miami expects the police to investigate this desecration of the Jesus Christ statue as a hate crime. This crime reflects the increasing attacks on the Catholic church across the country.”

“This is an attack on the church. This is not only private property, it is sacred property,” Mary Ross Agosta, a spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Miami, reportedly said. “This is not something you can trip over and say, ‘Oh, sorry.’ Someone did this intentionally.”

But who — who could commit such an act? The evidence points to left-wing extremists, i.e., the same extremists who’ve wrought havoc across the country by torching businesses, vandalizing police cruisers, toppling statues and attacking people.

However, these acts have received limited media scrutiny — with some media figures even complaining about any coverage of the ongoing riots and mayhem — because the left-wing media has, it would appear, chosen to side with the extremists:

The same seems to apply to cases involving churches. There have been no lengthy columns and screeds from the media about these attacks.

Moreover, when American Conservative Union chair Matt Schlapp warned last month that statues of Jesus would be “next” on the chopping block, “journalists” mocked him.

Look:

Yet once again, America’s ever-so-esteemed and self-important “journalists” have been proven to be completely and unequivocally wrong.
