Hours after authorities in St. Louis raided the home and confiscated the weapons of the heroic white couple who’d dared to use their Second Amendment rights to keep a roving mob of left-wing zealots from killing them last month, two notable events happened.
First, a firearms company in the nearby town of St. Charles offered to “rearm” the couple with a brand new AR-15 for absolutely free.
Second, 12 GOP lawmakers reportedly submitted a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr urging him to “ensure that none of our constitutional protections are eroded by mob rule.”
The events capped what have been the most stunning 24 hours thus far in the whole ordeal involving St. Louis homeowners Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who’d used a rifle and pistol to protect themselves from a mob of left-wing extremists last month:

On Friday, authorities in St. Louis executed a warrant on the couple’s home and confiscated their rifle (their pistol was reportedly in the possession of their attorney), despite the rifle being one of the only weapons they had to protect themselves.
This also happened despite the original mob who’d showed up at their home threatening to kill them, and despite additional mobs showing up afterward.
The raid on the McCloskeys’ home came days after St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, a black Democrat who’s running for reelection this year, announced an investigation into them versus the mob of extremists who’d targeted them.
A growing number of Americans believe that everything that’s happened in St. Louis has been backward, though the tables may finally be starting to turn.
In a post to Facebook published early Saturday morning, Alien Armory Tactical asked for help contacting the couple so it could “gladly rearm” them.

In an updated post late Saturday, the company expressed shock at the outpouring of support it’d received.
“Didn’t expect this kind of response. We are just trying to do what’s right. Also, I’ve been contacted by some other proud Americans wanting to donate training and ammo to this couple, as of right now we haven’t been contacted by them yet but I will let everyone know as soon as they accept our offer, what great Americans!” the company wrote.
Nice.
News also broke Saturday of a letter penned to AG Barr by Reps. Louis Gohmert, Mo Brooks, Greg Steube, Brian Babin, Paul Gosar, Alex Mooney, Andy Harris, Ted Budd, Steve King, Steve Watkins, Jody Hice and Scott Perry.
“At this crucial time in history, our nation needs the Department of Justice to exert strong leadership to ensure that none of our constitutional protections are eroded by mob rule,” the congressmen reportedly wrote.
“Charges against this couple will have a chilling effect on the entire nation, sending the message that American citizens no longer have the right to protect themselves at their own homes.”
The letter specifically concerned Gardner’s witch hunt against the couple.
“I am alarmed at the events that happened over the weekend, where peaceful protestors were met by guns and a violent assault. We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation or threat of deadly force will not be tolerated,” Gardner had said in a statement published June 29th.
“My office is currently working with the public and the police to investigate these events. Make no mistake: We will not tolerate the use of force against those exercising their First Amendment rights, and will use the full power of Missouri law to hold people accountable.”

The announcement provoked massive backlash:

But instead of backing off, Gardner appears to be doubling down.
