Only in “woke” post-Obama America would a female mascot named Dolly be held up the potentially new representative for the Big Boy restaurant chain — which is not to be mistaken for Frisch’s Big Boy.

The only thing missing is a tale of gender dysphoria, with poor little Dolly yearning to be a “big boy” all these years. But hey, give Big Boy a little time to work up the courage.

Turns out, the chain is rolling out a new chicken sandwich, and after playing second fiddle all these years to the Big Boy mascot, Dolly is getting the billing here.

As part of the new chicken sandwich’s introduction, Dolly is also being introduced as the new mascot, Microsoft News reported.

“It’s kind of a big cluckin’ deal,” Big Boy said.

“Dolly, featured in the Adventures of the Big Boy comic book series and Big Boy kids menus and coloring pages since the 1950s, has always been Big Boy’s side-kick,” the company said. “Now it’s Dolly’s time to shine with her own creation, The Dolly Chicken Sandwich.”

The chain has locations in California, Michigan, North Dakota and northern Ohio.

Being a white male is certainly doing original the mascot no favors in the year 2020, as Big Boy Director of Training Frank Alessandrini let it be known Big Boy could be going away forever.

“It is Dolly’s time to shine now with our chicken sandwich. So, she’s taken the forefront right now. She’s in charge,” Alessandrini told WOOD. “The name will always be Big Boy but as far as the logo, she’s leading the charge and we’ll see when he comes back if he does.”

Alessandrini said the company wanted “to show that we’re still moving forward. We recognize the times that we’re in, hopefully, turning the corner in this pandemic and come out of it, but we want to set ourselves up for the future as well.”

As for Frisch’s Big Boy, President and CEO Jason Vaughn released a statement this week letting it be known that their version of Big Boy isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

“You may have heard that some Big Boy restaurants in Michigan, not affiliated with Frisch’s, are temporarily changing their mascot. At Frisch’s Big Boy, which operates in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, we’re remaining faithful to our beloved Big Boy,” he said in the statement, according to Fox 19. “For more than 70 years, neighborhood Frisch’s restaurants have made memories with your family as the home of burgers, breakfast and Big Boy. We intend that to be the case for at least 70 more.”
