Facebook cleanses site of egregious anti-government group responsible for death of cops. No, not that one.

Facebook has taken aim at a “right-wing” group allegedly responsible for the murder of two California police officers.

“A far-right movement whose followers have appeared heavily armed at recent US protests has suddenly become one of the biggest worries of law enforcement, after one member killed two California police officers,” the Associated Press reported around the middle of last month.

“Few had heard of the Boogaloo movement before this year. But on Tuesday, the Justice Department charged one of its followers, California Air Force Sergeant Steven Carrillo, with the drive-by killing of an Oakland police officer during the May 29 Black Lives Matter protests. Eight days later, Carillo killed another policeman in an ambush after his van was discovered — laden with weapons and bomb-making materials — near Santa Cruz.”

Because of the heinous actions of this one alleged follower, Facebook has now banned hundreds of accounts, groups and pages affiliated with the so-called Boogaloo movement.

“Today we are designating a violent US-based anti-government network as a dangerous organization and banning it from our platform. This network uses the term boogaloo but is distinct from the broader and loosely-affiliated boogaloo movement because it actively seeks to commit violence,” Facebook announced Tuesday.

“For months, we have removed boogaloo content when there is a clear connection to violence or a credible threat to public safety, and today’s designation will mean we remove more content going forward, including Facebook Groups and Pages. This is the latest step in our commitment to ban people who proclaim a violent mission from using our platform.”

A total of 220 Facebook accounts, 28 Facebook pages, 106 Facebook groups and 95 Instagram accounts (Instagram is a separate social media network that’s owned by FB) were removed.

Yet numerous Antifa-affiliated accounts/groups/pages remain:

This despite Attorney General Bill Barr making it clear in a statement last week that both the Boogaloo and Antifa movements are allegedly extremist in nature.

“We have evidence that anti-government violent extremists — including those who support the ‘Boogaloo,’ those who self-identify as Antifa, and others — will pose continuing threats of lawlessness,” he said.

“Some of these violent extremists, moreover, may be fortified by foreign entities seeking to sow chaos and disorder in our country. The Department of Justice will respond to these violent groups in the same way we respond to other organized criminal or terrorist networks — by disrupting their violent activities and ultimately dismantling their capability to threaten the rule of law.”

This also despite Department of Homeland Security acting secretary Chad Wolf reportedly sending a letter last week to various social media networks, including Facebook, explicitly requesting that they take action against extremists who’re using their platforms to orchestrate “burglary, arson, aggravated assault, rioting, looting, and defacing public property.”

“It is up to you to decide how to handle content on your platforms. I hope you will do your part in countering the misuse of your platforms to promote, incite, and coordinate criminal activity that threatens the security of all Americans,” Wolf reportedly wrote.

Facebook’s move comes amid a barrage of endless violence that’s been committed by left-wing extremists across the country.
