One day after Senate Democrats blocked a Republican-backed police reform bill, the Democrat-run House approved a wide-ranging anti-police legislation.

Titled the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, the so-called police reform bill passed Thursday night by a vote of 236-181, Fox News reported, and now goes to the Senate for consideration.

All 233 Democrats voted for the measure that would ban chokeholds and no-knock warrants in drug cases, and make it easier to pursue claims against police officers in court.

If Democrats have their way, not only will officers put their lives on the line each and every time they put on their uniform, they will be forced to risk the financial security of their families to the whims of liberal judges.

Three Republicans, Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Fred Upton of Michigan and Will Hurd of Texas, crossed the aisle and voted with the opposition.

Prior to voting on the legislation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who accused Senate Republicans of “trying to get away with murder” with their police reform bill, pandered before the media.

“Today we have the opportunity and the obligation to ensure that his death and the death of so many others is not in vain,” the speaker said, in reference to Floyd.

The Senate measure was authored by Sen. Tim Scott, a black Republican from South Carolina.

Scott accused Democrats of taking black voters for granted while biding time until after the election.

“The problem is not what is being offered, it‘s who is offering it. Took me a long time to figure it out — the most obvious thing in the room,” Scott said in a speech from the floor.

“What I missed in this issue is that the stereotyping of Republicans is just as toxic and poison to the outcomes of the most vulnerable communities in this nation,” he added. “That’s the issue. When Speaker Pelosi says one of the most heinous things I can imagine: that the Republicans are actually trying to cover up murder, the murder of George Floyd with our legislation, that’s not politics. That’s not a game to win. That’s you lose. You will sooner or later lose. But immediately every kid around the nation that heard that nonsense lost that moment.”

Fox News’ “The Five” took up a discussion on the Senate bill being blocked, with co-host Dagen McDowell accusing Democrats of having “blood on their hands.”

“It looks like they are trying to use the death of George Floyd for political gain and more power,” she said.

Naturally, co-host Juan Williams disagreed, echoing the Democratic Party’s concerns over the proposal.

“Let me clarify some of the things in Tim Scott’s bill,” McDowell replied. “It conditions federal grants to jurisdictions that restrict chokeholds. Addressing chokeholds. Addressing the no-knock warrants, trying to collect some data on the use of them because we don’t know how they’re used or even how often. Directs the Justice Department to develop a program to train officers on how to deescalate confrontation and respond to suspects with mental illnesses because they result in 25% of fatal police shootings.”

She also stressed that there was plenty of compromise –“70%” — in the legislation.

“It’s going nowhere because the Democrats want this as a political win and nothing more,” McDowell insisted. “And they’re doing it with blood on their hands.”

Co-host Jesse Watters chimed in to note the “scam” at play, which is that policing is largely a local issue.

“Here’s the scam that Juan and the Democrats are perpetrating,” he said. “You don’t need Congress to do it. Juan, why doesn’t a Democrat Mayor just do it? How about the mayor of Atlanta? They don’t need Congress. How about the mayor of Milwaukee, San Francisco? How about Nancy Pelosi calls her friend? San Francisco and says hey, let’s ban chokeholds? Chokeholds banned.”

“You don’t have to do it in Congress,” Watters continued. “That’s the scam. They want to drag this out and make Republicans look like they’re not playing ball. But they are playing ball. The Democrats don’t want to actually do anything.”

His comments came before House Democrats passed their “police reform” bill.

“The sad part is the way they politicized this and demonized police,” Watters charged.

He also took issue with a nationwide “bad cop” registry being available to the public.

“If you want to put a little registry up, let’s put a registry up of all the bad teachers, all the teachers in these unions that molest kids and do drugs and stuff like that,” Watters said. “Put their names in a national registry for everybody to see. All right? You think it’s really smart to put a cop’s identity and all of his personal information on a website so everybody can see who he is, where he is, what is he about? You don’t think that puts a target on his back?”
