NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace appeared on CNN Tuesday night to double down on the claim that a noose was left in the garage stall his race team was assigned for the race at Talladega, Alabama.

The appearance came after the FBI concluded an investigation in a matter of one day, determining that a slip knot fashioned into a garage door pull was the culprit — a pull that had been in that same garage stall since at least October 2019.

The end result being that Fox Sports, NASCAR, its drivers and crews, and the “woke” reporters covering the sport were all made to look like fools for overreacting. Though, the hoax is a perfect encapsulation of the entire left-wing race narrative ripping at the seams of this nation today.

Yet, Wallace, the only black driver in the sport, told liberal host Don Lemon that the pull was a “straight-up noose.”

“I’ve been racing all of my life,” he said. “We’ve raced out of hundreds of garages that never had garage pulls like that. So people that want to call it a garage pull and put out all the videos and photos of knots being as their evidence, go ahead, but from the evidence that we have – and I have – it’s a straight-up noose.”

Wallace said that both the FBI and NASCAR called it a noose.

“I can confirm that, I actually got evidence of what was hanging in my garage, over my car, around my pit crew guys, to confirm that it was a noose,” he said.

The evidence was not shown and Lemon didn’t bother to ask about it.

The FBI released a statement Tuesday, and after noting that FIFTEEN agents were assigned to the case, said there was no evidence of a hate crime:

“On Monday, fifteen FBI special agents conducted numerous interviews regarding the situation at Talladega Superspeedway. After a thorough review of the facts and evidence surrounding this event, we have concluded that no federal crime was committed.

“The FBI learned that garage number 4, where the noose was found, was assigned to Bubba Wallace last week. The investigation also revealed evidence, including authentic video confirmed by NASCAR, that the noose found in garage number 4 was in that garage as early as October 2019. Although the noose is now known to have been in garage number 4 in 2019, nobody could have known Mr. Wallace would be assigned to garage number 4 last week.”

When pressed by Lemon on whether he believed the pull rope was “intended” for him, Wallace seemingly talked out of both sides of his mouth.

“It was a noose,” he said. “It was a noose, whether it was tied in 2019 or whatever, it was a noose. So, it wasn’t directed at me — but someone tied a noose, that’s what I’m saying.”

As for the backlash, Wallace brushed it off as an attack on his character, as someone “trying to take something away from me.”

In a statement Monday, Wallace called the incident a “despicable act of racism and hatred.”

And the entirety of NASCAR and Fox Sports put on a pre-race dog and pony show at Monday’s race to show support for Wallace, who drove a car emblazoned with “Black Lives Matter” several weeks ago.

Wallace also called on NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag at races recently and the sport complied, desperately trying to convince liberals hung up on a stereotype from half a century ago that it’s innocent of a crime it did not commit.

In doubling down, Wallace may be taking his lead from NASCAR president Steve Phelps, who allowed the story to get out before an investigation could determine the facts.

After releasing a statement on the FBI’s findings, Phelps held a teleconference with reporters to say NASCAR will continue its own investigation into how and why the pull rope in the garage was made into a noose, USA Today reported.

Phelps did not offer fans an apology for the entire fiasco he is largely responsible for orchestrating.

NASCAR’s statement:

“The FBI has completed its investigation at Talladega Superspeedway and determined that Bubba Wallace was not the target of a hate crime. The FBI report concludes, and photographic evidence confirms, that the garage door pull rope fashioned like a noose had been positioned there since as early as last fall. This was obviously well before the 43 team’s arrival and garage assignment. We appreciate the FBI’s quick and thorough investigation and are thankful to learn that this was not an intentional, racist act against Bubba. We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who love racing.”

Considering Wallace appeared on two television programs to discuss the controversy, those being Don Lemon’s show on CNN and ABC’s “The View, two of the most liberal programs on the air, people may wonder who’s advising this young man.

The driver also besmirched those who were skeptical of the initial claim — because of the restrictions in place due to the pandemic, access to the garage area was restricted, meaning that if there were nefarious intentions, it would most likely had to have been a member of the sport and Wallace is well-liked by all.

“It offends me that people would go to those measures, but I’m not shocked,” he said on The View. “But it’s simple-minded people like that, the ones afraid of change, they use everything in their power to defend what they stand up for instead of trying to listen and understand what’s going on.”

At the age of 26, Wallace has spent his whole life racing and now finds himself in the deep end of politically toxic waters without a raft.

A young man who wears his emotions on his sleeve, it would appear that Wallace is being manipulated by the liberal media. And while it seems he may have discovered the value of being a victim in post-Obama America, this is antithetical to what drew fans to him over the years.

When the circus leaves town, and it will, the driver will sadly be left holding the bag.

Conservative Matt Walsh summed things up nicely when he notes that if racism is so rampant in America, as the left insists, why is that so many hate crime claims end up being hoaxes?

Sharp-witted actor James Woods pegged Wallace’s CNN appearance accurately:

The ready answer may be no one cares about the truth anymore: “Society is broken.”
