State’s lawmakers taunt Trump as Seattle is under armed siege: ‘Go back to your bunker’

President Donald Trump implored Washington Democrats to regain control of Seattle from “anarchists,” as both the mayor and governor fired back, telling him to stay out the state’s business.

The president’s warning came as a group of armed anarchists invaded and cordoned off a section of downtown Seattle, naming it the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.”

“Radical Left Governor @JayInslee and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before. Take back your city NOW. If you don’t do it, I will. This is not a game. These ugly Anarchists must be stooped [sic] IMMEDIATELY. MOVE FAST!” Trump tweeted late Wednesday.

“Domestic Terrorists have taken over Seattle, run by Radical Left Democrats, of course. LAW & ORDER!” he added.

On Wednesday, Fox News correspondent Dan Springer told host Tucker Carlson that the anarchists have taken over a seven-block area that includes an abandoned Seattle Police Department precinct building officials said was vacated and boarded up on Monday after the department received a “credible threat” the building would be attacked and burned.

Springer noted further that the zone, which was declared to be its own country by the anarchists, is being patrolled by armed guards carrying assault-style rifles. He added that members are shaking down businesses inside the zone for money, and that guards are demanding people show an ID before entering.

Tucker noted that the anarchists have claimed they won’t abandon their zone until the city agrees to disband its police department.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Gov. Jay Inslee (D) claimed to have no knowledge of the situation in his state’s largest city.

“That’s news to me,” Inslee said in response to a reporter’s inquiry, before questioning the reporter’s credibility.

But Inslee must have dug into the situation later because he fired off a response to the president’s warning and mocked an earlier misspelling in Trump’s tweets.

“A man who is totally incapable of governing should stay out of Washington state’s business. ‘Stoop’ tweeting,” Inslee wrote.

Trump’s tweets also generated a response from Democratic Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan.

“Make us all safe. Go back to your bunker,” she wrote, as armed anarchists remained in control of several blocks in her city.

U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal also sent a childish taunt to the president.

Local KOMO news reported that Seattle police are ‘negotiating’ with the anarchists, with the station actually saying it wasn’t clear “if or when” the police precinct would be retaken.

“We’ve got other city agencies” involved in the negotiations as well, said a Seattle PD spokeswoman.

“It’s just a matter of establishing this dialogue,” she added. “We would love nothing more than to open all our precinct buildings.”

In his report, Springer said that the anarchists have made other demands as well, besides just disbanding the police department. Those demands include getting rid of the current court system, disarming all police until the department is disbanded, and abolishing youth jails.

Tucker added that the demands include retrials for all non-white felons, pledges from city officials not to disturb homeless camps in any manner, segregated hospitals where black doctors and nurses only care for black patients, and immediate amnesty for all rioters,

In response to the president’s tweets, some people — including Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton — suggested Trump invoke the Insurrection Act in order to deal with the situation in Seattle, as well as other armed protests around the country.
