When the violent Black Lives Matter movement exploded on the scene, following the justified shooting death of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old black man who physically attacked a Ferguson, Mo., police officer, the nation would soon see a number of cops being assassinated.

The difference between now and then is that while the police officer forced to defend himself against a much larger Brown was in the right, according to an investigation by the Eric Holder-led Justice Department, circumstances involving the Minneapolis cop linked to the death of George Floyd are much different.

Late Monday, a New York City police officer was struck by a vehicle in what appears to be a deliberate hit-and-run.

The incident was captured on video, which was shared online. A dark-colored vehicle is seen driving straight at an officer, who had just stepped out of a car with two others. The vehicle appears to accelerate as it nears the officer, who is struck and sent flying in the air.

“That’s a f—ing cop!” a woman is heard saying on the video. “Oh sh–!”

The injured officer falls to the ground and does not move. The other two people with him, likely other officers, rush to his aide.

*Caution: Foul language

NYPD officials confirmed the man in the video is an police sergeant, according to Fox News. He was taken to a hospital and was reportedly in serious, but stable condition with unspecified injuries.

A response to the troubling video may offer a feel for what law enforcement can expect in the harrowing days that lie ahead.

In a sarcastic referral to the autopsy of Floyd, which found that the Minneapolis man did not die of asphyxiation as a result of a knee to his neck, a social media user posted: “He must have had an underlying medical condition or maybe some potential drugs in his system.”

The liberal media, which has gone from aiding and abetting the Trump resistance to being the resistance, has pushed all in on defending rioters wreaking havoc on the streets of America, further demonizing law enforcement in the process.

A New York Times op-ed calling for defunding law enforcement being one example.

“Redirect it to emergency response programs that don’t kill black people,” a subtitle blares.

Anarchists and other far left rioters, along with criminal opportunists and plenty of young people looking for excitement, taking control of the streets in many American cities, looting and destroying at will, randomly beating to a pulp anyone who dares to impede their mayhem.

They have also set their sights on police officers, violently clashing with cops in city after city.

The Sergeants Benevolent Association of New York shared a video of an officer being attacked and warned officers.

“I guess the critics will now say he overreacted. NYPD Cops defend yourselves, you are alone!” the SBA tweeted.

And this is but the tip of the iceberg, it appears.

An officer was stabbed in the neck over the weekend in Jacksonville, Fla., after a downtown protest of about 1,200 people whittled to “200 trouble makers,” WPLG Local 10 reported.

“They attacked several police officers. They vandalized several police cars, attempting to light them on fire, breaking windows,” Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said. “We have one officer who was stabbed — was slashed in the neck and is currently at the hospital.”

In St. Louis, authorities said early Tuesday that four police officers were shot during protests in the city’s downtown area, Fox News reported.

And officers continue to be under fire in the city just a few miles from where Michael Brown was killed — in a display of how little truth matters in post-Obama America, protesters today still chant “hands up, don’t shoot,” even though it was a proven lie.

St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden told reporters two officers were shot in the leg and one was shot in the foot. The other officer was shot in the arm.

“As we speak we’re trying to get control out of this city, still hearing gunfire and everything. I don’t know what else to say. This is horrible,” Hayden said. “Thank God, they’re alive.”

Explaining that the officers were hit by gunfire while standing on the side of a police line amid protests in the city, Hayden said he believes “some coward randomly shot at the police line.”

The media attacks President Donald Trump for trying to bring law and order to the streets of America, as Democratic mayors and governors continue to tie the hands of law enforcement in response to the criminals.

And rest assured, while it may sound like a war zone in St. Louis, the media has little interest in reporting on that.
